Councilmembers Present: Eyer, Briggs, Song, Giswold Council Member Absent: CM Radina Staff Present: John Fournier, Milton Dohoney, Tim Wilhelm, Andrea Cascarilla of Dykema Gossett, PLLC, and Kelly Reynolds who recorded these minutes. APPROVAL OF AGENDA CM Briggs moved, CM Griswold provided a second to approve the agenda as presented. The motion was approved by voice vote. The motion was approved by voice vote. 22-0790 Council Policy Agenda Committee Meeting Minutes, April 19, 2022 NEW BUSINESS 1 Proposed Revised Meeting Calendar Due to a reoccurring conflict for a member the meeting schedule was revised to accommodate. The revised meeting dates for 2022 are as follows, Thursday, June 16 at 4pm Tuesday, July 19 at 4pm Thursday, August 18 at 4pm Thursday, September 15 at 4pm Thursday November 17 at 4pm Thursday, December 15 at 4pm Meeting calendar will be reposted for the public and new meeting notices will be sent to members. 2 AG Nessel support for The Public Safety Officer Support Act of 2022 Mr. Fournier provided information to the committee and will City of Ann Arbor Page 1 Council Policy Agenda Committee Meeting Minutes - Final May 24, 2022 continue to keep them apprised of developments should members determine they would like to provide a resolution of support. 3 Update on Federal Earmark Process Mr. Fournier provided an update of the status of federal earmark projects. He will keep the committee updated as more information becomes available. 4 HB 6062 Public Notices Mr. Fournier and Ms. Cascarilla introduced the group to the proposed HB 6062 that has implications for local government meeting notices. Ms. Cascarilla will provide updates as the bill undergoes revision. UNFINISHED BUSINESS 1 FY23 Council Policy Agenda Document Mr. Fournier introduced the first draft of the FY 2023 Council Policy Agenda document. It was suggested that language be made consistent in high and medium priorities and that language be added regarding council interest in supporting hate crime legislation and enforcement. The group will review the draft and provide comments to Mr. Fournier that will be incorporated. A final draft will be prepared for the June meeting of the committee to come before City Council in July. INFORMATION/UPCOMING BUSINESS Councilmember Griswold provided updates on the status of workforce housing and Gellman Plume/water quality permitting. PUBLIC COMMENT There was no public comment.
