CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Eyer, called the meeting to order at 4:20p.m.
Members in attendance: Chairperson Eyer, Councilmember
Harrison, Councilmember Radina, Councilmember Song, and
Councilmember Watson
Guest in attendance: Andrea Cascarilla, Andy Buczyk, and Jim
Brandell of Dykema Gossett PLLC, Elizabeth Nelson, and two
callers by phone
Staff in attendance: Deputy City Administrator John Fournier and
Executive Assistant Kelly Reynolds who recorded these minutes.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Councilmember Watson moved and Councilmember Harrison
seconded to approve the agenda as presented. The motion was
approved unanimously with a show of hands.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
23-0654 March 16, 2023 Council Policy Agenda Committee Draft Meeting Minutes
Councilmember Watson moved and Councilmember Harrison
seconded to approve the minutes of the March 16, 2023 Council
Policy Agenda Committee. The minutes were approved
unanimously with a show of hands.
NEW BUSINESS
1 Legislative update
Deputy City Administrator John Fournier and Ms. Cascarilla
provided a legislative update about legislative activity at the state
and federal levels. Conversations in all chambers are focused on
the budget and its approval.

1 Summary of CDS funding requests
Deputy City Administrator John Fournier provided a legislative
update about CDS project requests and state funding requests. He
is optimistic about funding due to the communication efforts of
Dykema Gossett and the quality of the projects.
Chairperson Eyer noted the access to funding opportunities and
communication with policy-makers seems to be improved over prior
years. Mr. Fournier credited the well coordinated efforts of the
Dykema Gossett teams in Michigan and D.C.
2 Amended CPAC establishing language
Mr. Fournier confirmed that the revisions of the CPAC establishing
language that have been previously circulated will appear on the
May 1, 2023 City Council meeting and will be sponsored by this
committee.

ADJOURNMENT
Councilmember Radina moved and Councilmember Watson
seconded to adjourn the meeting. The motion was approved with a
show of hands.
The meeting adjourned at 4:44 p.m.
