Huron St. Ann Arbor, MI 48104 http://a2gov.legistar.com/ Meeting Minutes Calendar.aspx Public Market Advisory Commission Thursday, February 21, 2019 5:30 PM Larcom City Hall, 301 E Huron St, Second floor, City Council Chambers A CALL TO ORDER Commissioner Cacciari called the meeting to order at 5:31 pm B ROLL CALL Present: 5- Peter Woolf, Alexandra Cacciari, Holly Parker, Lisa Young, and Jeff Nemeth C APPROVAL OF AGENDA Approved as presented D FIRST PUBLIC COMMENTARY (AGENDA ITEMS ONLY) - (3 Minutes per Speaker) Anne Sheppard - artisan vendor - requested that the artisan seniority be combined with producer daily vendor seniority so system is the same. Christine Schopieray - artisan vendor - has been a vendor 24-25 years. Since she abides by all market rules, requested that she as an artisan be treated the same as other vendor types E APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS January 17, 2019 PMAC Meeting Minutes Approved by the Commission and forwarded to the City Council due back on 4/15/2019 F PRESENTATIONS Market Improvement Proposal Final Edward Lynn presented an alternative idea for an indoor winter City of Ann Arbor Page 1 Public Market Advisory Commission Meeting Minutes February 21, 2019 structure. PMAC agreed to talk about pros and cons at the next meeting. G REGULAR BUSINESS (AGENDA ITEMS) Artisan vendors Commission discussed various responses to artisan vendors including: (1) integrating seniority lists (2) assigning 3 extra annual stalls to artisans (3) assigning a combination of the 3 etra stalls to artisans and daily producers (4) making no change. Commission eliminated option to assign current vendors a 4th permanent stall. Decided to table decision and resume conversation at the next meeting. Market Improvement Projects Market building budget summary Received and Filed electric heating bid Received and Filed H NEW BUSINESS (NON-AGENDA ITEMS) I REPORTS Market Manager Report Received and Filed J SECOND PUBLIC COMMENT (NOT LIMITED TO AGENDA ITEMS) Kim Mayes - Human Electric Hybrids - New company in kerrytown with cargo bikes. Can the farmers market use or partner with bike company? (order delivery, help with traffic flow) Nancy Willoughby - artisan vendor - Maybe it would be better to go with artisans as a percentage of market vendors rather than a set number of stalls (12) Anne Sheppard - Integrating the artisan and producer seniority lists won't affect who shows up on a given market day. Also won't hurt our ability to add more producers.
