Update from the Mayor Mayor Gavin Buckley City Council Remarks Virtual December 21, 2020 – 7 p.m. Good evening everyone. This is our last City Council meeting for the year! And what a year it has been. I think we will all be happy to see 2020 come to a close. Last week, I was very happy that you got to see the outlines of the City’s plan for Hillman Garage and City Dock as part of the predevelopment agreement. This is an exciting development and I know everyone involved in selecting the team has worked very hard to get us to this point. As we get to the other side of Covid, this project, a public private partnership that doesn’t tap taxpayers, will be a part of our revitalization efforts and how we get our economy back. I want to thank all 100 of our City Dock Action Team volunteers for working to build consensus. I want to thank our City manager David Jarrell, City attorney Mike Lyles, Assistant City Attorney Ashley Leonard and our City Procurement officer Brian Snyder for their work on figuring out the details and the contracts. == I would like to direct everyone’s attention to the City website’s Come Back Annapolis page where we have connections for City, state and federal resources - so crucial in this time of the partial shutdown. I remind everyone to continue to shop local, stay local, visit your favorite pubs and restaurants for carryout. They need you now more than ever.
