Thank you for being here. Mayor Buckley is not here this evening due to an unavoidable conflict relating to City business. == Earlier today, city, county and state leaders welcomed our federal Senators and Congressman to City Dock to announce an additional $3.4 million in federal funding for resilience efforts in Annapolis. I want to thank Sens. Cardin, Van Hollen and Representative Sarbanes for looking out for Annapolis. I’d also like to acknowledge State Sen. Sarah Elfreth and County Executive Steuart Pittman for their ongoing partnership and support. We have about two dozen more miles of waterfront land in Annapolis. And while most of that land is privately held, we are taking our first steps to protect Annapolis residents and businesses and to be able to give Annapolis City another 300 years at the water’s edge. With this work, we hope to maintain downtown Annapolis as both a destination and a beautiful place to live, work and play. == This Wednesday, March 15th, City Hall will be closed for essential electrical upgrades. City staff will work virtually or from other City offices as designated by their supervisor. Please note that the Finance counter will be closed. Payments can be made online or put through the mail slot to the left of the front door at 160 Duke of Gloucester (checks and money orders only please, in a sealed envelope). Calls to offices in City Hall will be forwarded to the appropriate departmental representatives. No other City offices or facilities will be impacted by this one-time closure. We thank residents and staff for your understanding and patience ==== Next Friday, March 24, all City offices and the Stanton Centre will be closed in recognition of Maryland Day. The Pip Moyer Recreation Center will be open; Annapolis Transit will operate on a regular weekday schedule, and trash and recycling pickups will occur on a regular schedule. == Maryland Day festivities have been moved to March 31 to Apr 2 this year. For more information, visit www.MarylandDay.org for details. == The Annapolis Film Festival is next weekend, starting on Thursday the 23rd at locations around Annapolis including Maryland Hall, Boys and Girls Club, Rams Head, The Graduate Hotel, Asbury United Methodist Church, and Annapolis Elementary. They’ve got a little something for everyone, from feature films to documentaries to shorts. These are ticketed events. Visit the film festival website for more information. = Lastly, I want to thank everyone for participating in St. Patrick’s Parade and downtown festivities. It looked like everyone had a good time. Please mark your calendars as we are now in parade season. Next up is the April 1st Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade and the African Diaspora event at City Dock.
