General Discussion ID-05-17 Presentation: HACA Status Update Sandra Chapman, HACA Board President, John Dillon, Chris Flynn, Chip Doordan, representing the Housing Authority City of Annapolis Board of Commissioners gave a presentation on the discussion topic and spoke on HACA's Annual Board Meeting, HACA's bylaw, security measures, the banning policy, the private security detail, inspections, financial limitations, property upkeep & maintenance, redevelopment projects in the pipeline, reconstruction funds, the procurement process, Resident Opportunities and Self Sufficiency Grant (Ross), affordable housing vouchers, having better oversight & control with record keeping, crime on the HACA properties, HACA's high risk audit, HACA's financial status and answered questions from the committee. Andre Adkins, President of the Harbor House/Eastport Terrace Resident Tenant Association was also present and spoke on the communication between HACA, the resident tenant council members and residents of HACA Properties and answered questions from the committee. This Informational Item was presented ID-06-17 Annual Standing Committee Chair Election Alderman Littmann moved to approve Alderman Kirby as chair of the Housing and Human Welfare Committee. Alderman Littmann moved to approve. Seconded. CARRIED on voice vote.
