CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Phil Rice called the meeting to order at 6:14 p.m. (the previous 5:00 pm meeting ran over). 2. ROLL CALL Present at roll call were: Chairperson Phil Rice, Commissioners Erik Skogquist and Elizabeth Barnett. Staff present was: City Manager Greg Lee, City Assessor Scott Varner, Appraiser Mike Brown. Also in attendance from Anoka County was: Senior Appraiser Shawn Halligan and Assessment Support Manager Scott Schutz. 3. BOARD OF EQUALIZATION City Assessor Scott Varner provided a brief overview of market values in the City of Anoka. He indicated overall market values were up 6.37%. He mentioned 1-3 unit residential was up 8.0%, apartments are up 5.25%, and commercial/industrial are up 3.71%. Assessor Varner briefly discussed valuation changes in various neighborhoods and home types. He also mentioned the quintile map in the city newsletter was incorrect and a correction will be included in the next newsletter (as well as the city’s web-site). Mr. Varner indicated the number of calls (5) received by the assessor’s office was down from last year and surprisingly low. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT There were no public comments. 5. COUNCILMEMBERS COMMENTS 6. ADJOURNMENT Commissioner Skogquist made a motion to adjourn the Board of Equalization meeting. Commissioner Barnett seconded the motion. Vote taken. All ayes.
