SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ANOKA CITY COUNCIL
ANOKA CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS
FRIDAY, AUGUST 16, 2024 AT 12:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order at 12:00 p.m. by Mayor Rice.
Present: Mayor Rice, Councilmembers; Skogquist and Wesp.
Absent: Councilmembers Scott and Weaver.
Staff: Assistant City Manager Amy Oehlers.
3.1 Canvass of August 13, 2024 Municipal Special City Election Results.
RESOLUTION NO. 2024-059
This portion of the special meeting was for the purpose of canvassing election returns of the Tuesday, August 13,
2024 Municipal Special City Election, pursuant to Minnesota Election Law and Section 4.08 of the Anoka City
Charter.
Assistant City Manager, Amy Oehlers reviewed the City election returns from the eight precincts for the
following question that was on the ballot:

A Resolution canvassing the election returns was presented to the City Council. A motion was made by
Councilmember Skogquist and seconded by Councilmember Wesp to adopt the Resolution.
Vote taken. All Ayes.
3.2 Scheduling Closed Session for Monday, August 19, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. for Discussion of Labor
Negotiations, Strategy, and Proposals, Pursuant to MN §13D.03.
Assistant City Manager, Amy Oehlers informed the City Council that the City has been in negotiations with
LELS on the Patrol Unit and Sergeant Unit Labor Contracts. It was requested that the City Council call for a
closed session in order to discuss negotiations and proposals pursuant to Minnesota Statute §13D.03
A motion was made by Councilmember Skogquist and seconded by Councilmember Wesp to call for a closed
session to be held on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the City Conference Room of City Hall.
Vote taken: All ayes.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Anoka City Council at this Special Meeting, Councilmember
Wesp made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Councilmember Skogquist seconded the motion. Vote taken: All
Ayes. The Special Meeting adjourned at 12:05 p.m.
