Opening Items a. Roll Call The meeting was called to order at 5:33 PM. Committee Members Present: AUSD Trustee Dr. Clyde Lewis, Council Member Lori Ogorchock (D3), AUSD Trustee Mary Rocha, Council Member Tamisha Torres-Walker (D1). Staff Present: Lindsay Wisely, AUSD Director of Secondary Schools, Assistant City Manager Rosanna Bayon Moore, Public Works Director John Samuelson b. Flag Salute B. Consent Items a. Approve Standing Committee Minutes of November 4, 2021 Motion: Approve the Standing Committee Minutes of November 4, 2021. Motion by Council Member Ogorchock; seconded by Trustee Lewis. Motion carried 3-0-1. Council Member Torres-Walker abstained. C. Old Business a. City Traffic Updates i. School Signage and Striping Analysis The City engaged Interwest, a consulting firm, to perform the study. The field work has been completed and the plans are in the process of preparation. ii. Antioch High School and 18th St. Traffic Calming Measures Per Public Works Director John Samuelson, the study of the roadway is complete. The threshold for traffic calming measures was met. The City will first address the conditions with non-vertical features, including striping and signage. A period will be allowed for driver adjustments, followed by monitoring. City staff will be meeting with the AHS Principal regarding next steps. D. New Business a. F Street Concerns School site constraints, the speed of travelers, pedestrian crossings and the complications of drop off / pick up at Fremont Elementary School were discussed. Per Director John Samuelson, the area in and around Fremont Elementary School is part of an identified area of traffic analysis. It has been identified for upgraded crossing features in connection with a Transportation Development Act (TDA) grant the City has received. Director Samuelson expressed he is open to communicating directly with the principal. E. Public Comments a. There were no comments from the public. F. Future Agenda Items a. Joint presentation by City and AUSD re: summer programs and activities, opportunities to jointly promote and increase community awareness b. Joint Agency Training (AUSD/City of Antioch) c. Potential Crossing Guard Study G. Future Meeting Dates It was the consensus of the body to meet on April 28, 2022 to receive the above referenced joint presentation. H. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 6:30PM. Motion: Adjourn the meeting. Motion by Trustee Rocha; seconded by Council Member Ogorchock.
