APPROVAL OF THE LEVY OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS ON CERTAIN PROPERTIES FOR UNPAID ADMINISTRATIVE CITATIONS & ABATEMENTS FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2015 Recommendation: The Board of Administrative Appeals shall confirm each assessment and the amount thereof, as proposed or as corrected and modified, and order it assessed against the property. The Board shall also direct that the same be recorded with the Contra Costa County Recorder’s Office and thereafter the assessment shall constitute a special assessment and lien against the property. Council Chambers Chairperson Simpson called the meeting to order at 3:02 P.M. on Thursday, November 5, 2015 in the Council Chambers. ROLL CALL: Present: Board Members Schneider, Busenbarrick, Schleder, Adeyemi and Chairperson Simpson Absent: Board Member Rouse Staff Present: City Clerk, Arne Simonsen Minutes Clerk, Kitty Eiden Code Enforcement Assistant, Denise Skaggs PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Chairperson Simpson led the board, staff and public in the Pledge of Allegiance. 1. CONSENT CALENDAR A. APPROVAL OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS MINUTES FOR OCTOBER 2, 2015 On motion by Board Member Schneider, seconded by Board Member Busenbarrick, the Board of Administrative Appeals unanimously approved the Minutes for October 2, 2015. B. APPROVAL OF THE LEVY OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS ON CERTAIN PROPERTIES FOR UNPAID ADMINISTRATIVE CITATIONS & ABATEMENTS FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2015 Code Enforcement Assistant Skaggs announced due to a payment received today, she would amend the assessments amount as follows:  Delete AR143334 for $1250.00  Delete AR143470 for $1250.00  Adjusting the total amount of assessments from $21,119.63 to $18,619.63 On motion by Board Member Schneider, seconded by Board Member Busenbarrick, the Board of Administrative Appeals unanimously confirmed each assessment and the amount thereof, as 1A 12-03-15 BOARD OF ADMINISTRATIVE APPEALS Regular Meeting November 5, 2015 Page 2 of 2 proposed or as corrected and modified, and ordered it assessed against the property. The Board also directed that the same be recorded with the Contra Costa County Recorder’s Office and thereafter the assessment shall constitute a special assessment and lien against the property. PUBLIC COMMENTS - None WRITTEN/ORAL COMMUNICATIONS – None City Clerk Simonsen announced the City Clerk and Deputy City Clerk would be attending a seminar and would be unavailable for the next Board of Administrative Appeals. He noted Code Enforcement Assistant Skaggs would be filling in for him and producing the staff report for that meeting. ADJOURNMENT Chairperson Simpson adjourned the Administrative Board of Appeals meeting at 3:06 P.M. to the next regularly scheduled meeting on December 3, 2015.
