AGENDA ITEMS 1. 16-394 Presentation and discussion on contract for municipal courtroom audio/visual upgrades with Logicalis, Inc. 2. 16-386 Presentation and discussion on changes to the Apache Junction City Code, Volume I, Chapter 16, Security Alarm Systems, which address the following: 1) unpermitted alarm systems; 2) abundance of false alarms; 3) outdated alarm systems administrative language; 4) updated fee schedule to be more in line with valley cities and towns and to match actual response costs; 5) preservation of officer safety; and 6) creation of a tiered penalty schedule. 3. 16-387 Presentation and discussion on changes to the Apache Junction City Code, Volume I, Chapter 4, Fees, Article 4-7, Public Safety Fee Schedule, Section 4-7-1, Public Safety Fee Schedule, Subsection J, Security Alarm Permit Fees, which address the following: 1) unpermitted alarm systems; 2) abundance of false alarms; 3) outdated alarm systems administrative language; 4) updated fee schedule to be more in line with valley cities and towns and to match actual response costs; 5) preservation of officer safety; and 6) creation of a tiered penalty schedule. 4. 16-432 Interviews of applicants for annual appointments/reappointments to the Board of Adjustment, Library Board, Parks and Recreation Commission and Planning and Zoning Commission. This item give council the opportunity to interview all applicants for these boards and commissions. Appointments/reappointments to these boards and commissions are on the agenda for September 20, 2016, should council wish to appoint at that time. 5. 16-409 Discussion on application for permanent extension of premises for Hitching Post, LLC. Council continued this item from the August 16, 2016 meeting and requested that it be placed on the September 19, 2016 Work Session for further discussion with city staff. It will also be placed on the September 20, 2016 agenda for continuation of the public hearing. City of Apache Junction, Arizona Page 1 Printed on 9/14/2016 City Council Work Session Agenda September 19, 2016 6. 16-406 Presentation and discussion on all matters involving the operation, to include the special event process, the development agreements, needed amendments if the plan was to make the use permanent, the Conditional Use Permit process and past Conditional Use Permit attempts of the Hitching Post, LLC. 7. 16-418 Presentation and discussion on city code provisions relating to terms of office and swearing in ceremony for mayor and city council positions (Apache Junction City Code, Vol. I, Sections 2-1-3 & 2-3-1). 8. 16-424 Presentation and discussion by Julian Avila of the Arizona Department of Transportation on the pavement preservation project on State Route 88 from Apache Junction to Tortilla Flat.
