AGENDA ITEMS 1. 16-522 Presentation and discussion on a proposed contract with Pimmex General Contracting Corporation for the installation of solar street lights in the Smythe neighborhood in an amount not to exceed $325,022.50. This work is partially funded by the city’s Fiscal Year 2015 State Special Project grant application submitted in March 2016 as requested by city council under Resolution No. 14-39. 2. 16-538 Presentation and discussion of proposed Ordinance No. 1428, case PZ-2-16, a proposed planned development major amendment request by Apache Junction Landfill Corporation, represented by Stephen W. Anderson and Lindsay Schube of Gammage and Burnham PLC, to amend the conditions of their Heavy Industrial by Planned Development with a Special Use Permit for a Municipal Solid Waste Landfill (B-5/PD) zoned, 129-acre property at 4050 S. Tomahawk Road, to establish a final closure date, certain development standards and infrastructure obligations related to the design and financing of the closure, and post-closure use and activities. 3. 16-471 Presentation and discussion on First Amendment to the Agreement for Operation of Municipal Solid Waste Landfill and Related Offsite and Roadway Improvements with Apache Junction Landfill Corporation. 4. 16-532 Discussion on legal advertising agreement with the Arizona Republic for the calendar year of 2017. 5. 16-540 Discussion on Resolution No. 16-33, Canvass of Votes for the November 8, 2016 General Election and dates for adoption of canvass. The first regular council meeting following the November 8th General Election is Tuesday, November 15. If the canvass cannot be completed on this date council needs to select an alternate date no later than November 28, 2016.
