CALL TO ORDER.
The special meeting of the City Council of the City of Apache
Junction, Arizona, was held on August 5, 2013, at the Apache
Junction City Council Chambers pursuant to the notice required
by law.
Mayor Insalaco called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

1. 13-182 Discussion on final budget for fiscal year 2013-2014. Discussion only.
Mayor Insalaco called for any discussion on
the budget.
Vice Mayor Barker asked if anything had been
changed.
Assistant City Manager Bryant Powell stated
nothing had been changed since the last meeting. Members of
staff and department directors are here if there are any
questions. The second required public hearing will be tonight.
There is a 3% general increase in the budget for staff, two new
full time employees, we are seeing steady growth in the sales
tax and we have joined Williams Gateway Authority.
2. 13-183 Public hearing on proposed final budget for fiscal year 2013-2014. This is a
required public hearing that must be held in conjunction with final budget
adoption (Arizona Revised Statute § 42-17103).
Mayor Insalaco opened the public hearing on the
item. There being no one wishing to speak, he closed the public
hearing and moved on to the next item.
3. 13-184 Consideration of proposed Resolution No. 13-28, adoption of final budget
for fiscal year 2013-2014 and declaring an emergency. Consideration
and action.

Mayor Insalaco called for a motion.
Councilmember Waldron MOVED THAT RESOLUTION NO.
13-28, A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
APACHE JUNCTION, ARIZONA, FULLY ADOPTING ESTIMATES OF
EXPENDITURES BY THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
BEGINNING JULY 1, 2013, AND ENDING JUNE 30, 2014; DECLARING
ESTABLISHMENT OF THE BUDGET FOR THE CITY OF APACHE JUNCTION FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2013-2014; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, BE APPROVED.
Vice Mayor Barker SECONDED THE MOTION.
VOTE: Unanimous.
