CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Serdy at 7:01 p.m.

PUBLIC HEARING
1. 18-280 Consideration for approval of Resolution No. 18-17, fully adopting estimates of
expenditures by the City of Apache Junction for the fiscal year beginning July
1, 2018 and ending June 30, 2019; declaring establishment of the budget for
the City of Apache Junction for Fiscal Year 2018-2019; and declaring an
emergency.
A public hearing took place. Resident George Schroeder stated his disappointment
that the city budget did not include funding for mental health services.
Councilmember Rizzi stated she has had numerous people express their gratitude for
the municipal court's program allowing people to work off court fines that showed their
inability to pay.
Councilmember Struble thanked city staff for their work on preparing a balanced budget
and expressed the city council and staff continue to be responsible for maintaining
existing levels of city services and programs in a difficult environment where funding
threats continue. Councilmember Struble stated he looks forward to building the future
of Apache Junction. Mayor Serdy also expressed his appreciation of staff's time and
efforts on the proposed city budget.
A motion was made by Councilmember Waldron, seconded by Councilmember Rizzi.
The motion carried by an unanimous vote.
