ARMADA TOWNSHIP BOARD SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES 23121 East Main Street Held Electronically & In Person Armada, MI 48005 May 18, 2021 7 p.m. Call to Order: At 7 p.m. by Supervisor Paterek Pledge of Allegiance Members present: Goetzinger, Swiacki, Murray, Paterek Members absent: None PUBLIC COMMENT: None NEW BUSINESS: Resignations: Township treasurer and deputy treasurer: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to accept Camille Finlay’s letter of resignation as of May 12, 2021 with regrets. Motion CARRIED Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to accept Becky Wiitanen’ s letter of resignation as of May 12, 2021 with regrets. Motion CARRIED Advertise: Township treasurer: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to advertise for treasurer on the township’s website and notify The Record to have them publish the information seeking a new township treasurer. The deadline for applications will be June 10, 2021 by 4 p.m. (The position must be filled within 45 days of resignation which is June 25. This is a partial term appointment thru November 8, 2022). All Ayes Motion CARRIED Bills: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to appoint Township Clerk and Township Supervisor to pay bills that are approved by the Township Board until a new treasurer takes office. MCL 41.75 provides that the Township Board shall approve claims against the Township and authorize payment of allowed claims. (Township Clerk will notify all financial institutions to remove both the treasurer and deputy treasurer as authorized signers from all accounts). All Ayes Motion CARRIED Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to add schedule of bills to the special meeting for May 25, 2021.
