ARMADA TOWNSHIP BOARD Regular Meeting Minutes 23121 East Main Armada, MI 48005 June 8, 2022 7:00 p.m. MINUTES CALL TO ORDER: 7 p.m. by Supervisor Paterek. MEMBERS PRESENT: Murray, Grembi, Goetzinger, Swiacki, Paterek MEMBERS ABSENT: None MINUTES: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to approve May 11 regular minutes as presented. Motion CARRIED SET/AMEND AGENDA: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to approve agenda as amended. Add 11 e) King Surveying, Inc. – Professional Surveying Services. Motion CARRIED BILLS: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Paterek to pay bills as presented. Motion CARRIED UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Residential Solid Waste Collection, Disposal and Recycling: On June 7 Trustee Goetzinger, Treasurer Murray and Attorney Bob Seibert met with representatives from a waste hauler to further ask questions and to understand the waste haulers positions on the RFP. Village Treasurer Jo Adair and Council Member Mike Shall were also present. They intend on meeting with an additional waste hauler. 1 ARMADA TOWNSHIP BOARD Regular Meeting Minutes 23121 East Main Armada, MI 48005 June 8, 2022 7:00 p.m. NEW BUSINESS: Fire Dept: Bids for exercise equipment purchase (Assistance to Firefighters Grant): Comparison sheets from the five bids were provided to the board from Chief Krotche. Motion by Swiacki seconded by Goetzinger to purchase equipment from Direct Fitness Solution in the amount of $16,418.85. FEMA Grant portion paid is $15,597.50 from line #206.336.969.000; fire department cost share in the amount of $820.95 from line #206.336.861.000. All Ayes Motion CARRIED Fire Dept: Combined generator maintenance contract/water tower – Village of Armada: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Paterek to approve proposal from Cummins Sales & Service cost share with the Village of Armada for generator maintenance. Term is for five years at a cost to the fire department of $499.33 for each of its two generators as proposed. The Village of Armada shall provide an annual invoice to the Fire Department for generator maintenance for its share. All Ayes Motion CARRIED Motion by Swiacki seconded by Paterek to approve wiring for the Village Water Tower to the Fire Department electrical panel at a cost to the Village of Armada and that the township will pay monthly electrical bill. All Ayes Motion CARRIED 150th Armada Fair Parade: Motion by Paterek seconded by Swiacki to participate with cost for float supplies not to exceed $500. All Ayes Motion CARRIED Township Park Ballfield Lighting: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Goetzinger to approve as recommended by the Armada Planning Commission the proposed six pole lights, at a maximum of 50-feet in height for the Township Park East Ballfield, contingent that a visor is added to the fixtures and that as-built plans are supplied to the Building Department upon project completion and that the final site engineering plans for this development are prepared in accordance with the Armada Township Zoning Ordinance. Motion by Swiacki seconded by Goetzinger to amend motion to authorize for soil borings. Ayes: Swiacki, Goetzinger Nays: Paterek, Murray, Grembi Motion FAILED King Surveying, Inc. – Professional Surveying Services. Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to approve expenditure of $1,200 to perform survey work for township property on Armada Ridge Road, Parcel 5 – 17.033 Acres, Sections 23 and 26 Armada Township and to have supervisor Paterek sign Work Order for Professional Services as presented.
