ARMADA TOWNSHIP BOARD Regular Meeting Minutes 23121 East Main Held Electronically & In Person Armada, MI 48005 May 10, 2023 7:00 p.m. REGULAR MEETING CALL TO ORDER: Supervisor Paterek called the meeting to order at 7 p.m. Motion CARRIED SET/AMEND AGENDA: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Goetzinger to approve the agenda as presented. Motion CARRIED PUBLIC COMMENTS: None CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS: (a) Approval of Minutes: Regular Minutes April 12, 2023 Election Commission Minutes April 20, 2023 (b) Current Bills totaling $ 214,247.07 (c) Revenue and Expenditure Report (d) Department Reports Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to approve consent agenda items as presented. All Ayes Motion CARRIED CORRESPONDENCE/INFORMATION: EGLE: New brine spraying permit for dirt roads. Currently EGLE has backed off implementing a permit until it receives more feedback from the road agencies and others who live on dirt roads. Department of Roads: 2023 Dust Control Program: The township receives two applications from Macomb County Department of Roads at no charge. Additional applications, if desired, are at a cost of $38,941.20 to the township. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Website Revamp: No Action. NEW BUSINESS: Purple Heart Township – Proclamation: Clerk Swiacki read aloud a Proclamation to name the Township of Armada a Purple Heart Township. Motion by Swiacki seconded by Job to adopt the Proclamation declaring the Township of Armada a Purple Heart Township. All Ayes Motion CARRIED Clerk Swiacki introduced Commander Sam Alvarado. Sam is from the Military Order of The Purple Heart Department of Michigan. Sam served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968, Reconnaissance Platoon 1st Battalion 5th Infantry Mechanized 25th Infantry. Commander Alvarado spoke emotionally on his military experience serving in Vietnam. Zoning Ordinance Amendment No. 114-42: Section 7.00 – Districts and Zoning Map and Section 7.01 Use Table: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to approve Zoning Ordinance Amendment 114-42 as presented and to publish accordingly. All Ayes Motion CARRIED Survey for Master Plan: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to approve survey as presented. Treasurer Murray will bring more information as to the cost share to the board for the June meeting. The grant submission deadline is June 20, 2023 Fire Dept: Gear Purchase: Motion by Swiacki seconded by Murray to purchase gear from Phoenix Safety Outfitters in the amount of $3,649 as presented from line item 206.336.799 Personal Protective Equipment. Swiacki, Murray, Goetzinger, Job, Paterek PUBLIC COMMENT: BOARD MEMBERS: Trustee Job, Trustee Goetzinger, Treasurer Murray, Clerk Swiacki and Supervisor Paterek.
