NOTICE OF BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT MEETING The Board of Zoning Adjustment for the City of Athens, Alabama, will hold a work session at 5:00 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 5:30 p.m., this meeting will be held at the City Council Chambers at 200 Hobbs Street West, Athens, Alabama, on Thursday, April 15, 2021, for the purpose of hearing the following applications and appeals. At this time, the applicant and all interested parties are requested to make their presence known and will be given the opportunity to be heard. Due to COVID-19 procedures, chairs will be spaced 6+ feet apart, and it is requested that the attendees wear masks or other facial coverings. Approval of Minutes Case #1 Request of Circle K Stores INC. for a Variance, specifically the Area of Sign Face, request 60sf for one ground sign. The hardship is the lot has over 460 ft of frontage on a 4-lane highway 31, and approximately the same on Pryor Street with only one ID sign limited to a ground sign 10 ft high, 40 sf does not allow sufficient viability for this business. Case #2 Request of Horace Freeman Jr. for a Variance, requesting the City of Athens Alabama Ordinance changed since the house was constructed which is located at 18225 Mooresville RD, Athens Alabama. Requesting a change on the property from 3 acres to 1 acre. There was a federally funded grant by the NRCS which allowed for a 24*24 concrete pad (cattle water) the to the 80 acres bordering the property line of the acre requested. Greg Greene Chairman
