NOTICE OF
BOARD OF ZONING ADJUSTMENT (BOZA) MEETING
The Board of Zoning Adjustment (BOZA) for the City of Athens, Alabama, will hold a work session at 5:00
p.m., followed by the regular meeting (IN-PERSON) at 5:30 p.m., this meeting will be held at the City
Council Chambers at 200 Hobbs Street West, Athens, Alabama , on Thursday, February 17, 2022, for
the purpose of hearing the following applications and appeals. At this time, the applicant and all interested
parties are requested to make their presence known and will be given the opportunity to be heard.

www.athensal.us find the “Government” menu, click on the “Zoning Board of Adjustment”.
Due to COVID-19 procedures, chairs will be spaced 6+ feet apart, and it is preferred that the attendees
wear masks or other facial coverings.
Approval of Minutes – January 20, 2022
Case #1
Request of Greg Crow (ABC Store) at address 614 HWY 31 S, for a “Variance Request”, specifically
“Building Setbacks”. Zoned: B-2 (General Business District). Note: This setback reduction request
is the same request that was approved in 2020, but must go back before the board because it has
been more than a year.
Case #2
Request of Chick-fil-A (John Romanello) at address 1291 US HWY 72E, for several “Variance(s)” request
of “Accessory Building Setbacks”, “Required Parking Spaces” & “Reduction
Landscaping/Buffering/Lighting”. Zoned: B2 (General Business District).

Request of Centerpointe Crossing Development, LLC, for property located at the intersection of Athens
Limestone LN & Athens Limestone Blvd. (Parcel #: 44-10-05-15-2-000-020.000), for a “Variance
Request” specifically “other regulations” the maximum length of an attached residential building .
Currently Zoned: B2 (General Business District). Note: The rezoning request from B2 (General
Business District) to R2 (Multifamily Residential District) was recommended for approval by
the Planning Commission on 12/21/2021, the request will go before City Council on 02/14/2022.
