Athens Airport Authority Meeting April 27, 2021 3:00 p.m. Live Stream on ACCGOV YouTube Channel Authority: Diane Napier, Chair Les Shindelman, Keith Sanders, Grant Tribble, Robert Miles, David Asman Airport: Mike Mathews, Airport Director Josh Edwards, ACC Assistant Manager Angela Dalton, Airport Business Coordinator A. Chair Update: Mrs. Napier reviewed the agenda for the meeting. B. Approval March Authority Minutes: Approved as submitted with noted grammatical errors corrected. C. Airport Manager Reports a. Financial & Operations Report: Mr. Mathews reviewed the monthly report as of 3/30/21, including the operations report. b. Capital Improvement Project Updates: Mr. Mathews noted that Astra was given a Notice To Proceed on April 12 and they are in the process of mobilizing their equipment to the project site. He further noted that once construction begins he will provide weekly updates via email. c. Marketing & Outreach Activities: Mr. Mathews and Mrs. Napier met with Commissioners Myers and Houle and Mr. Mathews provided them with an Airport tour and an update on upcoming projects. d. ClearPoint Data System: No update at this time. e. COVID-19 Update: Mr. Mathews noted that staff is still maintaining safety protocols. Further discussion will be held within the next month concerning returning to in-person meetings. D. Old Business: N/A E. New Business a. ACC Sustainiblity Issues: Mrs. Napier noted that the 100% Clean and Renewable Energy campaign is now in the public input phase and she participated in the survey and also a webinar on 4/19/21. Handouts from that meeting were distributed and discussed. b. Next Steps After the Public Input Phase: Lexington Hwy & Atlanta Hwy TSPLOST Projects: Mrs. Napier noted that data collected during the public input phase will now be reviewed by the user groups to compile a prioritized recommendation to present to the Mayor & Commission.  c. Authority’s FlyAHN Email Address Discussion: Ms. Dalton noted that in order to combat the Authority receiving scam and spam emails, members’ email addresses have been removed from the website, She is working with PIO to create a “contact me” form that citizens can use to send members questions or concerns. d. Standing Committees, Any Other Issues & Updates 1. Business/Finance: No update at this time. 2. Operating: Mr. Asman noted that the UGA Aviation Club Fly-In has been rescheduled to this Saturday. He also noted that he and Mr. Mathews are discussing small changes such as moving picnic tables to the front of the building and holding monthly hot dog weekends to encourage traffic, visitors and community involvement. 3. Air Service Development/Marketing: Mr. Mathews noted that Doug Blissit, Mead & Hunt Consulting, will present an update at the May meeting to fully review the ASD conference and to also discuss the state of the industry. Mr. Mathews also discussed his participation in the virtual conference he attended on March 30 – April 1. E. Other Business: N/A F.
