Minutes for ACAC Commissioners Meeting DATE: February 8, 2020 TIME: 6:00 – 8:00 PM PRESENT: Executive: Chair: Andrew Salinas Vice Chair: Holly Alderman Treasurer: Darcie St. Onge Secretary: Madeline Blankenship Members-at-Large: Donna Brumby, Linda Ford, Patrice Green, Montu Miller, Helen Kuykendall Ex-officio: Jan Bush Advisors: Didi Dunphy, Stephanie Raines, Marilyn Wolf-Ragatz Staff: Tatiana Veneruso ABSENT: Beatrice Brown Approve Previous Minutes: • Motion to approve January 2021 minutes: Donna Brumby; Second: Patrice Green. Passed with no discussion. Chair’s Report: ● Intersection Improvements project: Bishop Park o Artwork budget from SPLOST would be $5,000. There is precedent for commissioning an artist for a smaller SPLOST budget ($5,000) like this rather than putting out a public national call (typically ok under $10,000). The process is otherwise the same. o Tatiana to get clarification from SPLOST office on the potential artwork site. o If we need to walk the site, Patrice, Jan, Andrew, Patrice, and Madeline volunteer. ● Full time Coordinator Position: posted on the county website today. ● Patrice Green is taking over as the Vice Chair. Vice Chair will chair the outreach committee moving forward. Please reach out to Patrice to join that committee. Treasurer’s Report: • Issue with last year’s operating budget leaves us $2,000 for the remainder of this fiscal year, which means we will be unable to do Arts in Community Awards this spring. Reach out to Patrice to assist with planning some sort of unveiling event as a part of the outreach team. • Clayton St: Public info session was held online recently, and the recording is available to view. Artist Eric Leshinsky to present the idea on Tuesday, 2/9 to Mayor & Commission. • Greenway: The preliminary selection panel brought up a number of questions related to safety and materials sourcing, which will be relayed to the finalists. The selection panel will reconvene to discuss towards the end of February. • Music Walk Of Fame: Next selection committee meets next week; committee includes Andrew and Montu from ACAC. New Business: ● Arts in Community Awards: Resilience (AICA:R – 2020) o 47/49* paid out. *One awardee declined award, 2 others have forms outstanding. o One artist has been unsuccessful in finding a location for their project, and may submit a new proposal for review by the original AICA:R committee. o Motion to extend the art completion deadline to December 31, 2021 along with accompanying reports: Patrice Green.
