The minutes of the previous meeting (November 8, 2021) were approved unanimousl (motion b Helen / second b Esra). Chair s Report Vice Chair Madeline opened a discussion concerning FY23 operating budget requests for ACAC. In addition to ongoing operating funds, the following suggestions for additional FY23 budget were each unanimousl approved: 1. Request $8,000 for ACAC website redesign (motion b Madeline / second b Beatrice). Action item: Stephanie will double-check on the procedural rules for bidding and selection and report at the Februar meeting. 2. Request $20,000 to increase the number of Arts in Communit Awards and increase the award amounts, increasing the total to four projects annuall at $5,000 each (motion b Donna / second b Madeline). 3. Request $8,000 for arts project assistants and/or associated project e penses. Assigning assistants per project would be based on the si e of the award, the ACAC minutes 1/10/22 1 need for local assistance for non-local artists, and the learning opportunities for the assistants (motion b Madeline / second b Victoria). A decision on hiring an artist assistant for the Cla ton Street project was tabled until an updated FY22 budget report is available. The group was asked to begin thinking about the advisabilit of using RFQs v. RFPs for Arts in Communit Awards. Financial Report No report presented. Project Reports Tatiana presented the following updates: Cla ton Street Trees are currentl being installed, the fabrication documents have been presented, and the main installation is planned to begin in April 2022. Fire Station #2 and Cooperative E tension Public dedications for Hero s Path (Aaron Husse ) and Origins (David Hale, Peter McCarron, and David Harrison) were held Januar 8, 2022. Poet Laureate An event is being planned for April, which is National Poetr Month. Greenwa II The site has been selected, pending approval b the Ma or and Commission. Classic Center Arena The user group for this project met on December 15, 2021. A followup meeting will be announced later this week. Affordable Housing The ne t user group meeting for this project will be held Januar 13, 2022. Pianos Arrangements have been made for the piano at the A-CC Librar to be tuned and touched up, and for the piano at Bishop Park to be retired and removed as it is be ond repair. Music Walk of Fame The 2022 selection team meeting is scheduled for Januar 16, 2022. Hawthorne Intersection A user group meeting will be announced soon for this project. Arts in Communit A ards Ten applications were received for the latest round of awards. The selection team is working on the final selection of two awards for this round. Posting of the Spring round will be tabled until Februar 2022, when a budget report is available. Fourteen AICA: Resilienc reports are still outstanding, but Tatiana reported that all the projects have actuall been completed. ACAC minutes 1/10/22 2 Outreach Team Report: Madeline recapped December tabling events. Strateg Team Report: Beatrice and Victoria presented planning ideas for an ACAC retreat for Spring 2022. Andrew recentl sent out a surve for members concerning preferences for the retreat and will report the results at the Februar meeting. Members were urged to submit responses to the surve .
