A C R ● Acting Chair Madeline Bates made a statement requesting that ACAC members treat each other and A-CCUG staff ith respect going for ard. ● A call ill be issued for t o ne ACAC members to fill the slots of t o members ho recentl resigned (Beatrice Bro n and Andre Salinas). Tatiana Venerusa has submitted this call request to the A-CC Ma or and Commission. It as clarified that an e -officio ACAC member ho is eligible and ishes to appl to become a regular member must go through the required application process, but does not have to resign as an e -officio member in order to do so. ● Nominations for all ACAC officers (Chair; Vice-Chair; Secretar ; Treasurer) ill be accepted b Madeline and a slate ill be voted on at the September 2022 meeting. ● It as clarified that ACAC members must compl ith the ACAC b la s concerning meeting attendance and officer terms. 1 2. T R ● Darcie St. Onge is revie ing the closing of FY22 and ill report at the September meeting. ● The ACAC membership ill vote on the FY23 proposed budget at the September meeting. 3. O C R ● Helen Ku kendall has drafted a scope of ork statement to submit to potential vendors for the ACAC ebsite update. To meet ith Count guidelines on budget e penditures under $15,000, ACAC needs three quotes/proposals. ACAC is not obligated to automaticall accept the lo est bid, but ill accept the proposal that best fits the Commission s e pectations and the information needs. Athens-based companies ill be given preference. An one ith suggestions for potential vendors ma send those to Helen; she ill also check for potential vendors on the Athens Creative Director . 4. P R Tatiana Veneruso reported on the follo ing projects: ● The ne t t o calls for Green a projects are still open until August 28. There has been a lot of interest e pressed b artists in these projects. ● The Count is still orking on the Cla ton Street installation. ● The Ma or and Commission have approved sites for Firefl Trail Phase II. Calls are being drafted and ill go out soon. Funding for the Winterville Road site ill be $75,000 and the Trailhead site ill be $38,000. These projects are e pected to be sculptural. There ma be leftover materials from the trestle available for the selected projects. Firefl Trail Phase III funds ill come from T-SPLOST. ● The Classic Center Arena calls are still in draft due to changes being made in the architectural plans. ● The Poet Laureate term is in its second ear and ends in August 2022. A ne committee ill need to be established for selecting the ne t Poet Laureate; this ill probabl be discussed for April 2023. ● Four out of five of the ne Athens Music Walk of Fame plaques have been delivered and installation ill be scheduled. Stephanie Raines described hat ill be Athens Cultural Affairs Commission s diminishing role in the Athens Music Walk of Fame selection and management in the future, due to ACAC SPLOST funds for the plaques running out at some point. The criteria for honorees can be found on the Music Walk of Fame ebsite. Tatiana Veneruso accepts public nominations for honorees, hich she for ards to the Ma or. The ne t round of selection ill probabl start in Januar 2023. 5. O B ● There as a discussion concerning adding a standing committee for Arts in Communit A ards to the ACAC B la s. The resulting vote is reported belo . ● The Acting Chair dissolved the temporar Strateg Committee. ● ACAC is a aiting clarification from Lisa Pappas regarding Article 8 of the ACAC B la s (committee/panel membership and attendance requirements) and regarding hether art project site visits fall under open meetings and records rules. 2  ● There as a discussion concerning ACAC s role in providing funds for public art maintenance and operational costs; identification plaques for public art projects ill be included in this larger maintenance discussion. ● There as a discussion concerning continuing the recentl proposed ACAC task forces or reinstating the B la s-provided standing Project Committee instead. This topic ill be revisited at the September meeting. 6. N B ● The Acting Chair led a discussion concerning the potential for partiall reallocating the $25,000 operating funds approved b the Ma or and Commission for FY23 Arts in Communit A ards, hich ere proposed at five a ards at $5,000 each). Members ere asked to come up ith ideas for using those funds for appropriate, similar purposes and discuss those at the September meeting. ● The Acting Chair congratulated Athens-Clarke Count Leisure Services Arts Division on a successful 2022 Arts Summit. ● E -officio member Micke Bo d submitted his resignation from ACAC, hich as accepted b the Acting Chair. T M /S /R ( N /N )( ): ● Helen Ku kendall moved, and E ra Santesso seconded, acceptance of the draft June 2022 meeting Minutes ith no changes. The ere unanimousl approved (6-0). ● Helen Ku kendall moved, and Darcie St. Onge seconded, acceptance of the draft Jul 2022 meeting Minutes ith no changes. The ere approved b a vote of five in favor ith one abstention (E ra Santesso). ● E ra Santesso moved, and Linda Ford seconded, that a standing committee for Arts in Communit A ards be added to the ACAC B la s, to be composed of four members ith staggered terms. Donna Brumb asked to amend that motion in order to ait until the temporar B la s committee submits a completed revision instead of making onl this one change at this time, and to instead make the AICA committee a temporar ad-hoc committee until the revised B la s are voted on at a later date.
