Call to Order a. Meeting called to order at 4:05 pm 2. Agenda Additions and Approval a. Agenda approved (Mark moved; Teresa seconded). 3. Public Comment a. No public comments. 4. Approval of Minutes a. Previous minutes not complete. Former secretary has resigned. Teresa will assist with minutes. b. Lauren moved, Mark seconded. Minutes approved. 5. Commission changes (3:50) a. UGA Appointee, Roswell Lawrence Jr, is resigning from commission. Blaine Van Note, Operations Manager‐UGA Transportation & Parking Services, will take care over to represent UGA. b. Jake Maas, is resigning from the commission. Carly Evans, Conservation Specialist‐ Athens Land Trust, will take over for Jake. c. With Jakes resignation, a new secretary must be appointed. Ultimately, Blaine Van Note volunteered to take on this role. Lauren motioned, Teresa seconded. Motion approved. 6. Committee communication (17:07) a. Keep listserv to AiM Commission & ACC staff. b. Lauren will create spreadsheet of list of committees, members, & email addresses. c. Note to not use Dropbox anymore. All items will be saved to the Google Drive. 7. Budget (Todd) (20:43) a. Approved for $12,000 this fiscal year. Does have to be spent this year, will not carry over. b. Discussions on how to spend: signage (Mark), staff t‐shirts, Open Streets event (Teresa). PR consultant to help develop message and roll‐out plan. Communications/Education subcommittee will oversee. 8. Future Meetings (35:55) a. In person or virtual? Lauren recommended that August 24th meeting be in person. b. Next committee meeting August 24th, location tbd, with a hybrid option. 9. Park Planning (46:30) a. Firefly phase 2 September completion date. b. Wooden Murmur trestle demo complete. c. Trail parking lot will be created near Circle K. 10. Open Streets (50:10) a. Open streets event route will be proposed, will require street closures. b. Proposed date would be Sunday, October 10th, 2021. c. Commission was joined by Becky Evans, GA Rep (and Carly’s mom), who discussed the operation of the Emory Village open streets events and graciously invited the commission to their event on October 24th, 2021. 11. TSPOLST project proposals (1:04:12) a. Big Bucket first draft is completed. Mark will present. b. Atlanta Highway is pretty close, but needs a set of exhibits. c. Lexington Highway: working with corridor committee to fill in gaps and complete stretch from TSPOST 2018. d. Small sidewalks proposal is 75% complete. Focusing on obtaining supporting data. e. ADA sidewalks will be updated when Aaron gets back. One idea is to contact inclusion office to speak on behalf of users. 12. Corridor Committees (1:40:02) a. Prince Ave committee submitting TSPLOST proposal. b. Atlanta Highway asking Mayor & Commission about TSPLOST 2018 survey results c. Lexington Highway will soon vote on recommendations. 13. Grants & Data Committee (1:44:29) a. Grant for RRFB “Blinky Flashy”. 14. Communication & Education Committee a. Discussed Open Streets event earlier in meeting. 15. Greenway Commission a. Second Saturday 16. Regular updates a. RAISE grant submitted, announcement in November. b. TSLPOST submittals by ACC (Stephen/Daniel) 17. Adjournment a. Meeting adjourned at 6:08 pm.
