Call to Order a. Meeting called to order at 4:09 pm 2. Public Comments a. None 3. Greenway Commission Appointee – Dale Van Cantfort 4. Agenda approval a. Aaron motioned. Mark seconded. Agenda approved. 5. Approval of Minutes (June) a. Lauren motioned. Randy seconded. Minutes approved. 6. Housekeeping/Chair update (7:10) a. Mayor & Commission Government Operations Committee interviewing people for Boards, Authorities and Commissions today b. State of Emergency extended, in person meetings could be on the horizon c. Work Plan – Lauren has sent 7. Major Discussion (13:25) a. Conferences – do we want to send a Commissioner to conferences? Consider for future budgets request. b. Prince Ave Pilot Project – Pulaski to Milledge or Pulaski to Barber. Will be voted on August 3rd. should AiMC draft a letter to send to M&C offering c. From Education and Communications Committee: i. Appetite for tabling and having a presence at events: AthFest, Hot Corner, Marigold Fest, Twilight, Greenlife Expo, AthHalf, Porchfest - Ride/tabling? Holiday parade? Will need more than Education and Communications Committee members. ii. Procuring “swag” to distribute iii. Pick out three events and schedule AiMC Commissioners table iv. Discussed expanding digital presence: social media, website d. Safe Routes to School - engagement with CCSD – discussed Partner schools impact e. Winterville Complete Streets and Trails Master Plan – FYI they are working on this plan 8. Park Planning (1:14:00) a. Bridge project is moving ahead, verticals are being placed. Last week of August timber section install. Completion is estimated for the end of the year. b. Firefly phase 3 plans have been submitted (Hancock Rd to Winterville) c. Cemetery back filling and storm water drainage has begun. Bridge work concrete pour will be done in a few weeks. Completion date tentatively November of this year. d. Carr’s Creek Greenway plans have been submitted. Reviewing comments, construction maybe late fall e. April 2023 Oak St bridge project goes to bid 9. Bike/PED Coordinator (1:25:33) a. College Station Road update – back open for traffic as of July 25 b. Projects: c. Riverbend Road engineering plan – this fall plans will be brought to M&C d. Oglethorpe/Hawthorne connecting bike lanes – will update/discuss at next meeting e. Barber Street - next steps tis September work session, then voting in October. Public input would occur after the work session. f. Next priority projects - send to Policy and Projects for recommendations on next Tier 1 projects g. Other projects h. Bike Friendly Community - New criteria and standards - Daniel working on i. Vision Zero Resolution - on M&C consent agenda August 2 j. Vision Zero Coordinator position update – application window closes July 31st k. Other updates l. Communications Plan – Teresa motioned to accept communications plan. Lauren seconded. Motion approved. 10. Corridor committees (2:00:02) a. Atlanta Hwy Corridor – Public input coming soon b. Lexington Rd Corridor – no updates c. Prince Ave Corridor – pilot project as discussed earlier 11. AIMC Committees (2:01:07) a. Grants and Data – i. Working on Planning Grant, another next month for loop over Mitchell Bridge Rd ii. Local Road Safety Plan Pilot iii. Safe Streets for All Grant - action planning grant iv. Reconnecting Communities Pilot Program - expand North Ave project? b. Data Projects – i. AiM dataset work – in progress ii. AiM prioritization criteria update AiM dataset work – in progress c. Policy and Projects – i. Ordinance Revisions: ii.
