Minutes Major Discussion (14:42) Events reportback: UGA Bike/Ped Day, Thursday, September 8th ● Well attended, but not many student cyclists. Many walk around campus. Upcoming Event: PorchFest, this Sunday, October 2nd – details forthcoming ● Tabling Prince Ave & General Bike/Ped – good opportunity for outreach ● 2 members of the Prince Ave user group will be there ● Lauren, Daniel – would like 2 other AiM commissioners as well (12pm – 5pm) ○ Dale, Randy, Craig will attend ● Education and Communications Committee looking into a slate of events for us to table Prince Avenue Pilot Project ● Still being installed, delivery trucks blocking bike lanes ● Toole Design created a social media plan/timeline for posts ● Video footage – in progress, captured some “before” shots ● AiMC will send letter to M&C after pilot ● TPW will do a walk audit with M&C at a later date Staff Updates (46:12) Park Planning - Todd Miller ● Firefly Trail Bridge over Trail Creek – timber staged on site concrete pour next week. January completion date on schedule ● Oconee Hill Cemetery project trail is completed. Anticipated opening on November 2nd ● Carr’s Creek Greenway – out to bid, due October 18th 1  ● Firefly Trail Expansion – working on final plans and acquiring easements ● Firefly Trail East Broad St – estimated completion October 2022 ● East Campus Greenway Connector Mural Wall (RFP Process) – Artist selected awaiting M&C approval ● North Oconee Access Rd Bridge Support Column Mural (RFQ Process) – three artists selected to provide final concepts Bike, Pedestrian and Safety Coordinator - Daniel Sizemore ● Safe Streets for All (SS4A) Grant Submitted $1M for vision zero planning ● Streetlight Data plan will be finalized in the next few weeks - traffic analytics data system for review and planning ● Bike Friendly Community (BFC) application has been moved to Spring deadline ● Athens in Motion Plan Development ○ Delayed start, will break down into sub-committees ● Barber Street Project ○ Will soon be open for public input (10/03 – 10/16) ○ Special called session with AiMC set for 10/20 at 4:00 pm to review public input ○ November work session deadline is 10/25 for presentation ● Ongoing Construction Projects ○ Tallassee Bridge replacement - working on decking, scheduled to be complete by October 2023 ○ Boulevard Improvements - NTMP program, speed tables have been installed ○ Prince Ave Pilot - on-going, Commissioner Walk on October 18th Vision Zero Coordinator - Shirelle Hallum ● Local Road Safety Plan in development - met with GDOT, taking a safe systems approach, will compile data and work on solutions for trouble areas ● Reconnecting Communities Grant (Planning Grant) - will apply for Hawthorne Ave, between Oglethorpe and Alps/Baxter Committee Reportback (1:21:30) Corridor Committees ● Atlanta Highway - Over 200 responses to survey. High demand for shared use paths (Mitchell Bridge/Timothy Rd). User group will assist with path placement options ● Lexington Road – M&C approved preliminary plans for sidewalks.
