Welcome
Special welcome to students from the Grady School of Journalism, who streamed the meeting from the Planning
Department conference room.
Teresa opened the meeting at 4:06 pm and shared the agenda. There were no changes suggested. Dale moved
to accept the agenda. Randy seconded. The agenda was approved unanimously.

Housekeeping
• Next meeting will be after Thanksgiving, November 29 (5th Tuesday)
o This will serve as our annual meeting
o Chair will give annual report for acceptance
o Re/elect Officers
o We will develop 2023 Work Plan at our January meeting
• Tentatively planning for no regular meeting in December, stay tuned.
• Committee (+ subcommittee) meetings and in-person attendance going forward

Barber Street – Next Steps
● Review final presentation and vote for final AiMC recommendation
● Mayor and Commission work session November 8th – chair in attendance? M&C will vote in December.
● Motion to recommend option 3B? to Mayor & Commission – John motioned, Randy seconded. Motion
approved.
Prince Avenue Pilot Project
● Updates:
○ Zicla zippers have been repaired
○ Public comment open through November 23rd (800 comments to date)
○ District Commissioners participated in a 1.5 hr walk audit last week

○ Project data collection begins soon (traffic counts, AiM will receive data to review)
○ Lauren collecting “after” footage
● Draft letter to M&C for special called session on December 13th

● Traffic deaths and injuries:
○ Fatalities (9 total this year): Recent bike and pedestrian fatalities: Cedar Shoals Drive and Prince
Avenue (non-local side)
○ Injuries: Hawthorne Avenue that Commissioner Denson was on scene for, and the timely
Connecting Communities grant Shirelle submitted
● Reconnecting Communities Grant for Hawthorne Avenue (Finished)
● Safe Routes to Schools – meeting with GDOT, will audit 5 elementary schools
● Upcoming Walk Audits - in planning phase
● Other items
○ Reviewed vulnerable road users diagram
○ Neighborhood Traffic Safety Program – will submit request for traffic calming measures
