Annual Meeting in November
● Tentatively planning the final full AIMC meeting of the year to be on November 28th
o Committees may still meet through the end of the year
● This will serve as our Annual Meeting. We will approve a Year-in-review document and our Work Plan
for 2024

Crosswalk Policy – vote approval

● Began with an effort to update the policy
● Cross collaboration between internal ACC units and AiMC
● Lauren motioned to accept the updated crosswalk policy (with the addition of the yes arrow-flowchart)
so it can be presented to Mayor and Commission; Randy seconded. Motion unanimously approved
● Will be presented to M&C in January

Bike and Pedestrian Programs (Small Programs) – update

● Rani and Daniel presented at M&C work session on October 10th
o Overview featured in Flagpole this week
● Over the next year or so, staff will collect data and will prioritize programs. At a later date, this will be
presented back to M&C for approval
● Six programs are included, with three receiving initial primary focus
o Start with sidewalk gaps, bike lane gaps, & ADA improvements
o Next steps will be to identify which programs to focus on and what priority they are addressed
Adhoc Plan Revision Committee

● Wikimap now live - ‘soft launched’
o Web page and release coming at a later date
o Will use at tabling opportunities, need QR code handouts

Fall tabling opportunities

● Porchfest table on Saturday, October 21st
o Large North Ave map was positive and useful
● Many safety vests were distributed
o “Buster the Safety Dog” was in attendance

● Individual citizens may speak to ACC Commissioners regarding these issues
● Tallassee Road bridge ribbon cutting ceremony might be an opportunity to raise awareness

● General Updates
o Public Outreach & Education
■ North Ave survey – 140 responses collected as of 10/23/23
■ North Ave public input events – First event had low turnout, but the second event was
great and had upwards of 30 attendees, including Commissioners Link and Thornton
o Residential Traffic Management Program
■ LRC renamed the program to Residential Traffic Management
■ TPW staff agreed on the language for two separate policies for government and self-
funded programs to be presented to LRC on 11/7
■ Compiling additional prioritization criteria
o Local Road Safety Plan
■ TPW staff provided final feedback for the Local Road Safety Plan on 10/12/23
■ Work session for the plan in January
■ Does AiMC want to review?
o SS4A
■ RFP is being extended to allow more time for updates – now switching to a
qualifications based selection process
■ Firms will need to submit their qualifications by November 7th. We will hopefully have a
consultant on board and working on the plan by the new year.
o Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods
■ Submitted on September 28th with support from all of our elected officials including our
Representatives to the House and Senate.
■ Huge thank you to AiMC for coming through with assistance in writing the application
and providing a support letter
o Safe routes to schools

■ Safe Routes to Schools Report and memo crafted in August and resent on 10/17.
These will be given to the manager’s office and a work session will be scheduled
in preparation for a budget request
