Ed motioned to accept the agenda; Allen seconded. The agenda was approved unanimously Minutes Lauren shared the previous meeting minutes and entertained a motion to accept. Randy motioned to accept the minutes; Teresa seconded. The minutes were approved unanimously Minutes Reportbacks (5:04) Georgia Bike/Walk/Live Summit ● AiM Commissioner attendee round o Commission takeaways: ■ Allen – creating a biking culture in Athens. One option is to teach children how to ride bikes in schools (Oglethorpe, Coweta County) ■ Randy – impressed with GDOT involvement, development of East Coast bike trail ■ Scott – encouraging to be with people of Georgia pushing for the same thing ■ Daniel – enjoyed the networking ■ Lauren – interesting sessions on bike laws, funding sources Staff Updates (14:54) Park Planning – Todd Miller, Park Planning Coordinator ● Greenway Trail Carr’s Creek – Coming along, 50% complete with concrete trail. Beginning to install bridges. Estimated completion February 2024 ● Firefly Trail Phase III – SPLOST working on acquiring construction easements ● Greenway Trail Expansion – Dudley Park to Easley Mill. Pushed the bid date out to April 2024 ● Nature Center Greenway – will be a Fall to Spring installation ● Dudley Park/Greenway Kayak launch – MLK/Greenway and Dudley should be completed by December ● MACORTS – Madison Athens Clarke Oconee Regional Transportation Study – local NPO planning organization Transportation and Public Works Shirelle Hallum, Vision Zero Coordinator via Daniel Sizemore 2  ● November Crash Report o Monthly report with fatal and vulnerable road user crashes o TPW analyzes this data and recommends improvements Daniel Sizemore, Bike, Pedestrian and Safety Coordinator ● General Updates ● Athens in Motion updates o Internal discussion to update Athens in Motion plan o Potential for hiring consultant to assist o Safe Streets for All Plan consultant currently being evaluated o Overlap between the two plans o TLDR - get a consultant, discuss further at January meeting o Ad hoc plan revision subcommittee will be on hold for the time being Annual Meeting (1:03:12) Annual Report 2023 + Work Plan for 2024 Lauren Blais, AIMC Chair ● Present Report o Discuss report, review potential edits ● Highlights include: o top 15 ranking Complete Street Policy in America o Bronze level status for Bicycle Friendly Community (Next year = SILVER!) o DOT case study on Complete Streets Policy o Crosswalk Policy o Many tabling, workshops, wall/ride audits, and conferences ● Lauren entertained a motion to accept the 2023 annual report. Teresa motioned to accept the 2023 annual report; Ed seconded. The 2023 annual report was approved unanimously ● Lauren entertained a motion to accept the 2024 work plan. Ed motioned to accept the agenda; Randy seconded. The 2024 work plan was approved unanimously Adjourn Lauren entertained a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ed motioned, Allen seconded.
