Board of Elections Meeting Minutes
July 2, 2019
The monthly meeting of the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections was held on Tuesday,
July 2, 2019, at ACC City Hall Room 103, Athens, Georgia.
Alison McCullick called the meeting to order at 3:03 PM. A quorum was not established due to only
2 voting members of the board being present when the meeting started.
Alison McCullick conducted the meeting moving forward to the Director’s update.
Board Members Present: Charles Knapper, Chairman; Alison McCullick, Board Member; Jesse
Evans, Board Member; Ann Till, Board Member; Mokah J. Johnson, Board Member
Board Members Absent: None
Others Present: Charlotte Sosebee, Director; John Hawkins, ACCUG Assistant County Attorney;
Sherrie Hines, ACCUG Assistant Attorney; Deborah Lonon, ACCUG Assistant Manager; Aletha
Perkins, Recording Clerk; Pamela Long, BOE Staff
A. DIRECTOR UPDATE
The following items for discussion:
1. Introductions-Board Members and Office Staff
2. Activity Report
3. 2nd Quarter Goals (April –June)
a. Start posting Advanced Voting Locations
b. Discussion of times and dates of Advanced Voting Locations
At 3:23 PM, a quorum was established. A motion was made by Alison McCullick to accept the times
and dates of Advanced Voting Locations for the 2019 General Municipal/Special Election. Jasmine
Mokah Johnson seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
c. Discussion of different places advertising will be posted informing public of
various locations for Advanced Voting to begin July 9, 2019;
d. Update on “Election Link-up”-Lisa McGlaun will present at next meeting;
e. Marketing-Billboards throughout Athens informing and engaging our citizens
and being available to the voters;
f. 2019 and 2020 State Elections & Voter Registration Calendar
g. Resignation and appointment letter for unexpired term of Board Member

B. PUBLIC COMMENT –NONE
Jesse Evans, Board member requested New Member material as an introduction to the Board of
Elections. Mokah Johnson, Board Member recommended a Welcome Packet. The Board agreed
the need to establish the next Board Development Training dates; dates announced a later date.
C. APPROVE MINUTES OF PRIOR MEETINGS
1. June 4, 2019 Minutes – Alison McCullick made a motion to approve the June 4, 2019
minutes as written. Mokah Johonson seconded the motion. The motion passed
unanimously.
