APPROVED Athens-Clarke County Special Meeting September 28 2020 Virtual Meeting https://youtu.be/qhFEHoz4iSk 4:30 PM The special called meeting of the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections was held on Monday, September 28, 2020. Jesse Evans, Chairperson, called the meeting to order at 4:30 PM. Board Members present: Charles Knapper, Vice Chairperson; Patricia Till, Board Member; Willa Fambrough, Secretary; Rocky Raffle, Board Member. Board Members absent: NONE Others Present: Charlotte Sosebee, Director; Deborah Lonon, Asst. ACCUG Manager; Pamela Long, Elections Assistant; Lisa McGlaun, Elections Assistant Faythe Hill Recording Clerk ; Sherrie Hines Assistant Attorney Adopt Agenda Motion to adopt agenda made by Mr. Knapper, seconded by Mr. Raffle. Motion passed unanimously. A. Public Comment: None B. Errors in Candidate Listing on Ballet: District Attorney of the Western Judicial Circuit Chairman Jesse Evans received a letter from Candidate Deborah Gonzalez about errors made on the Ballots. Director Sosebee stated that she has communicated with the Secretary Of State office as well as the Oconee County Supervisor Of Elections and their board members. Director Sosebee explained the errors and also the ballot proofing process. Director Sosebee's recommendation was not to reissue the ballots, but send a letter to all the effected voters and place a notice on the website indicating the errors and moving forward, all remaining issued ballots are correct. Interim Assistant Attorney Hines summarized the conversation that she and Director Sosebee had with Mr. Chris Harvey, SOS Elections Director on Friday October 25th concerning the ballot errors and what they could do to fix this problem. After the board members' deliberation, Ms. Till made a motion to do a joint letter with Oconee county Board of Elections to send out to voters and to post on the website about the errors made on the ballots and how they have been corrected.
