Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections & Voter Registration Minutes – Regular Meeting &Special Called Meeting January 5, 2021 @ 4:30pm 2555 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605 Due to COVID-19 precautions, this meeting was livestreamed. Board members present: Ann Till, Member; Willa Fambrough, Member; Rocky Raffle, Member; Hank Qadir, Member; Adam Shirley, Member Board members absent: NONE Others present: Charlotte Sosebee, Director; Judd Drake, ACCUG Attorney; Lisa McGlaun, Elections Assistant; Pamela Long, Elections Assistant; Aletha Perkins, Recording Clerk A. Ms. Fambrough was elected as Acting Chair. Motion by Ms. Till. Seconded by Mr. Qadir. Unanimous. B. In unison, the board read the Board Member Oath of Office (O.C.G.A. § 21-2-70). C. The agenda was adopted. Motion by Ms. Till. Seconded by Mr. Raffle. Unanimous. D. New Business a. Selection of Board Leadership for 2021 i. Ms. Fambrough was elected Chairperson 3:2. Mr. Raffle was nominated by Ms. Till, seconded by Mr. Raffle. Ms. Fambrough was nominated by Mr. Shirley, seconded by Mr. Qadir. Yea to Raffle: Raffle, Till. Nay to Raffle: Fambrough, Qadir, Shirley. Yea to Fambrough: Fambrough, Qadir, Shirley. Nay to Fambrough: Raffle, Till. ii. Mr. Raffle was elected Vice Chairperson unanimously. Mr. Raffle was nominated by Ms. Till, seconded by Mr. Qadir. iii. Mr. Shirley was elected Secretary 4:1. Mr. Qadir was nominated by Ms. Till, but Mr. Qadir declined the nomination. Mr. Shirley was nominated by Mr. Qadir, seconded by Ms. Fambrough. Yea: Fambrough, Qadir, Shirley, Till. Abstain: Raffle. b. Update: Runoff Election - January 5, 2021 i. Director Sosebee provided an update on the runoff election. E. Old Business a. 2021 Regular Meeting Calendar i. The second Tuesday of each month at 4:30 was unanimously selected as the regular meeting for 2021. Motion by Mr. Shirley, seconded by Ms. Till.  January 12 April 13 July 13 October 12 February 9 May 11 August 10 November 9 March 9 June 8 September 14 December 14 b. Budget for FY 22 i. The board voted unanimously to recommend the Mayor and County Commission approve increasing the pay of poll clerks to $11 per hour, assistant poll coordinators to $12 per hour, and poll coordinators to $13 per hour. Motion by Mr. Raffle, seconded by Mr. Shirley. F. Announcements G. The meeting was adjourned at 5:50 by unanimous vote. Motion by Ms. Till, seconded by Mr. Raffle.
