Unapproved Minutes - Special Called Meeting Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections & Voter Registration August 30, 2022, 5:15pm 2555 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605 Bylaws of the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections and Voter Registration (bit.ly/accboebylaws) Chair Raffle called the meeting to order at 4:36pm. In attendance were Rocky Raffle, Chair; Ann Till, Vice Chair; Adam Shirley, Secretary; Willa Fambrough, Member; and Hunaid Qadir, Member. Others in attendance were Blaine Williams, Manager; Charlotte Sosebee, Director; Lisa McGlaun, Elections Assistant; Aletha Perkins, Administrative Assistant; Lisa Pappas, Assistant County Attorney; and Jessica McFadden, voter registration challenger. A. MOTION by Ms. Till to adopt the agenda. Seconded by Mr. Shirley. Approved unanimously. B. Public Comment was heard from Caroline Aiken, Jacqueline Elsner, Chaplain Cole Knapper, Angela Greene, Regina Smith, Ann Mahoney, Linda Gilbert, Paul Van Valkenburg, Suzanne Sperling, Jane McPherson, Frances Hensley, Jon Jefferson, Shelby Branch, Richard Zimdars, and Carol Myers. C. Old Business MOTION by Ms. Fambrough to adopt the revised voter challenge procedure as recommended by the Attorney’s Office. Seconded by Mr. Shirley. Approved unanimously. D. New Business MOTION by Mr. Shirley to amend the advance voting schedule proposed by adding voting on Sunday, October 23, from 11am until 5pm, at the 155 E. Washington Street location. Seconded by Ms. Fambrough. Motion carries. In favor: Fambrough, Raffle, Shirley. Opposed: Qadir, Till. MOTION by Ms. Fambrough to adopt the advance voting schedule as amended. Seconded by Mr. Shirley. Motion carries. In favor: Fambrough, Qadir, Raffle, Shirley. Opposed: Till. Announcements 1. September Regular Meeting at 120 W. Dougherty Street, Tuesday, September 13, at 4:30pm 2. Upcoming deadlines for 2022 elections a. August 22: first day to apply for an absentee ballot for the November general election b. September 16: last day to apply to be a poll worker through accgov.com/jobs c. September 20: earliest day to mail our UOCAVA ballots d. October 11 ● earliest day we can mail regular absentee ballots (October 10 is holiday) ● last day to register to vote in time to vote in the November general election e. October 17: advance voting begins for November general election f. October 28: last day to submit absentee ballot application for November election g.
