Minutes - Regular Meeting Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections & Voter Registration October 10, 2023, 4:30pm 120 W Dougherty Street, Athens, GA 30601 Bylaws of the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections and Voter Registration (bit.ly/accboebylaws) Chair Raffle called the meeting to order at 4:36pm. In attendance were Rocky Raffle, Chair; Ann Till, Vice Chair; Adam Shirley, Secretary; and Willa Fambrough. Others in attendance were Charlotte Sosebee, Elections Supervisor; Pamela Long, Elections Assistant; Audra Taylor, Elections Assistant; Lisa McGlaun, Elections Assistant; Aletha Perkins, Administrative Assistant; Niki Jones, Assistant County Manager; and Sherrie Hines, Assistant County Attorney. A. MOTION by Ms. Till to adopt the agenda. Seconded by Ms. Fambrough. Approved unanimously. B. MOTION by Mr. Shirley to approve the minutes from the September 12 regular meeting and the September 25 special meeting. Seconded by Ms. Fambrough. Approved unanimously. C. Public comment was heard from Jacqueline Elsner. D. Director Sosebee, Ms. Long, Ms. McGlaun, and presented the Director’s Report. MOTION by Ms. Till to amend the agenda to include under New Business precinct manager approval. Seconded by Ms. Fambrough. Approved unanimously. E. Old Business 1. Update on RFP for Spanish language translation 2. Emergency Operations Center for Elections in 2024 F. New Business Precinct manager approval MOTION Ms. Fambrough by to approve the precinct managers and assistant managers as recommended. Seconded by Ms. Till. Approved unanimously. G. Announcements 1. Thursday, October 5: Election education forum specifically for voters 2. Tuesday, October 10: Deadline to register or update registration in time to vote in the November election 3. Wednesday, October 11: Election Education Forum specifically for elected officials and political parties 4. Monday, October 16: Earliest date the Department of Elections is allowed to mail absentee ballots Advance voting begins for November 2023 election 5. Tuesday, November 7: Last day to vote in November 2023 election Special meeting, 2555 Lexington Road 6. Monday, November 13, Special meeting, 2555 Lexington Road 7. Tuesday, November 14: Regular meeting, 120 W Dougherty Street  8. Tuesday, December 5: Regular meeting, location TBD H. MOTION by Ms. Till to adjourn. Seconded by Ms. Fambrough.
