Human Relations Commission Minutes Meeting #2 Tuesday, June 22, 2022 / 6-7PM ACC Planning Auditorium Meeting begins at 6:02 pm  Attendance: o Selah Gardiner (she/her) – Interim Inclusion Office, non-voting member o Gino Cyrus (he/him)- Inclusion Office Marketing & Outreach Analyst, non-voting member  HRC Members in attendance, all introduced themselves: 1. Julita Sanders (she/her) 2. Ke’Marcis Howard (he/him) 3. Alejandra Villegas Lopez (she/her) 4. Tucker Duval (he/him) 5. Ed Moore (he/him) 6. Brandon Baker (he/him) 7. Danielle Gillmer (she/her) 8. Sharon McDaniel-Miller (she/her) 9. Jayivey Brown (she/they) 10. Cameron Harrelson (he/him) 11. Callie (Anna) Moore (she/her) – non-voting attendees Hollie and McKenzie spoke on Callie’s behalf. o Members who were not in attendance (a total of four members): Kathleen Westbrook, Tami Frye, Myung Cogan, Tameka Curry o Requested by Ed Moore, all HRC and Inclusion Office members stated their pronouns. (Listed above) Selah mentions how HRC members can receive their $25 stipend, via completion of the required paperwork. Everybody re-introduced themselves to Callie. Selah mentioned the $25 stipend paperwork requirements again.  Order of business began at 6:15 pm o Selah Gardiner states that the minutes from the last meeting were sent out to everyone. Ke’Marcis Howard seconds the minutes. o Selah mentions a “Robert’s Rules of Order” YouTube video and the significance it will play in having HRC meetings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yEczx3t2P2g  Parliamentary Procedures forthcoming/Rules: o Selah states that HRC members must have training before nominating a Chair o Our quorum will be nine members. (50% + 1) o Selah states that amendments can be recommended by any board member– the people run the board, not the Chair. The Chair cannot make any decisions without the approval of the board members.  By the end of next month – we will be moving to Microsoft Office 365  Since the HRC is a BAC, they will be getting their own email addresses (Microsoft Office 365)  Selah reminds all that all messages are subject to the Open Records Act  As stated by Selah, next order of business begins….. o Selah states again that we will be creating our own bylaws. o HRC is an inaugural group, a bridge from between the community and Mayor and Commission.  Due to popular vote, all meetings will be the fourth Wednesday of every month from 6pm- 7pm.  The official location for next meeting (July 27th) will be at the Snipes Water Resource Center. o Tentative Dates for future meetings: July 27th Aug 24th Sep 28th Oct 26th Holiday Week: Nov 23rd Holiday Week: Dec 28th  There will be 2 weeks of training next week (July 20th & 27th). This is the first Board, Authority and Commission to go through this Blue Level Training.  Community events that were mentioned: o AthensPride is having a training- June 28 (3pm-5pm) Selah reminds everyone to share community events that especially involve learning and outreach are encouraged to be mentioned at HRC meetings. Selah reflected on the resolutions that were passed that allowed the Progress Pride Flag (Jun 10) and the Juneteenth Flag (Jun 17) fly. Meeting adjourned.
