KACCB Meeting Minutes September 6, 2023 Call to Order: Jackie, 4:07 Present: Ladarius Thomas, Courtney Medders, Nathan Stuck, Jackie Sherry, Carlos Pinto, Allison Wright, Stacy Smith, Joe Hill, Ezra Schley, Theresa Bangert, Stacee Farrell, David Bow Absent: James Alexander, Michelle Roberts, Jameson Glenn, Warren Abel, Josh Podvin, Brian Santos, Angela Huff, Stephanie Hall (had to step down) Approval of August Minutes 1. No quorum 2. Delayed until next month Treasurer’s Report 1. Attachment a. Expenditures were liability insurance b. Lots of interest income c. Dirty Dance Revenue d. River’s Alive pass through 2. Will have to wait to approve until next meeting Executive Director’s Report: Attached 1. Dr. Greller benefit, $1 received for every patient 2. Dirty Dance (wrap up included) a. 250ish attendees b. $5,337+ in profit i. Usually between $3k and $6k ii. Depends on raffle, weather 1. Need all board members to contribute to baskets next year c. Very hot day d. Board Feedback i. Would love to see a scanner – PayPal has one, QR code created a bottleneck at the door 1. SumUp and Square have created issues 2. Stacy had previously looked into Venmo as a business account with some road blocks a. Joe will look into it ii. Raffle 1. Board members winning a. Could offer to decline if they are present 2. Much easier to have the random number generator  iii. Little Kings special drink? 1. Joey said we made $30 but only because they mixed only enough for 30 drinks, so Stacee said don’t worry about it iv. King of Pops 1. Still waiting for their kickback 2. Don’t think we bought enough to cover but don’t then think he made us pay v. Food truck 1. They said it was worth it but not crazy busy just steady 2. They seemed pleased 3. First time using truck vi. Send any thoughts or ideas or feedback you think of to the office e. We did get some business donations this year, could get more income if we go after business sponsors i. Linking them in to DD activities f. Expenditures i. Lots for outreach ii. Love Where you Live Grants iii. Green Teacher gifts iv. Chipper Trees v. All attached g. No request for funds Committee Reports At retreat in November, will look at committees and placements on committees – think about what inspires you! Will be at the November meeting date (November 1) and extended to 7 with dinner and breakouts, etc. 1. Membership/Sponsorship (Theresa/Courtney?) a. Courtney got some info from Kendra Scott on a potential fundraiser after their donation for Dirty Dance i. Percentage night – “Giveback Events” 1. 2-hour shopping window any day of the week 2. Online code valid for 48 hours 3. Provide marketing materials to share on SM 4. Board members in store ii. Sorority a good potential market for this iii. Board members would need to be present iv. Courtney will follow up with KS for some dates v. What’s in it for them? Nathan 1. Membership connection vs. just a one-off 2. Public Relations/Projects (Need new chair) a. Looking ahead, St. Patty’s i. Saturday or Sunday – pretty sure we decided Sunday ii. Event for daffodil project  iii. Very rainy so changed a lot of plans 1. Dunk tank 2. Food truck 3. All inside 3. Education/Outreach (Jackie) a. Encourage Love Where You Live Grant applicants i. Non-profits 4. Business and Industry (Will need new) a. We aren’t sure if Warren is still around, will look for a replacement for this committee b. Will look for networking events in November, had some schedule conflicts c. BBM?? Anyone heard from Jameson? i. No, up and down in activity ii. See if he has the rocks d. Theresa, floating idea of having BBM under the membership/sponsorship umbrella Old Business 1. See above for wrap up 2. Lexington Hwy cleanup a. Great success b. Will bring numbers next time, see snapshot for overview in meantime 3. Litter Index Results: attached a. Give Stacy your feedback if you have it: how do we make it the most impactful for our community New Business 1. Jackie will review the bylaws and see what she and Ladarius need to do to connect with those board members we haven’t heard from in a while 2. Retreat a. Got a note from Epting asking if we wanted to have an event there for free, Stacee will look into this b. Picking committees and getting excited for the coming year 3. Need to set date for quarterly cleanup a. Did Saturday last time so may be time to try for before the October 4 meeting b. Cleanup 3:30 pm on October 4 c. Meeting after details to be determined 4. No committee breakouts this meeting til we iron it all out 5. Theresa will serve as secretary for the remainder of the turn Upcoming Events 1. Rivers Alive, October 21 a. Volunteer registration opens on the 15th b. Kickoff at Dudley Park  2. KACCB Georgia Gives Membership Drive, November 28 a. Georgia Gives Day i. Encouraged to reup membership this day ii. Encourage friends and colleagues iii. Office will send information about it iv. Good opportunity for membership here 3. Bring One for the Chipper January 6 4.
