Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County Mayor and Commission Special Called Session Tuesday, April 15, 2025 6:26 p.m. City Hall The Mayor and Commission of the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County, Georgia met this date in a special called session. Present: Mayor Girtz, Commissioners Davenport, Link, Taylor, Wright, Fisher, Johnson, Myers, and Thornton. Commissioners Culpepper and Hamby were absent. The purpose of the meeting was to consider the first amendment to the employment agreement with Acting Manager Brad Griffin, and any other item in proper order. Public input There was none. New business – Consider under suspension of Rules A motion was made by Commissioner Thornton, seconded by Commissioner Taylor, to suspend the Rules of Commission for consideration of one new business item. The motion passed by unanimous vote. In accordance with Section 4-101 of the Charter, Mayor Girtz recommended an extension of the contract of Bradley A. Griffin to serve as the Acting Manager of the Unified Government of Athens-Clarke County through June 3, 2025; and authorize him to execute the first amendment to the employment agreement with Acting Manager Bradley A, Griffin. A motion was made by Commissioner Thornton, seconded by Commissioner Wright, to approve Mayor Girtz’s recommendation. The motion passed by unanimous vote. Mayor Girtz announced the following appointments to the Tax Allocation District Committees: Mall Area Jessica Nickelsen John Gurley Cait May Denise Ricks West Broad Street/Hawthorne Area Heidi Davison Newton Bridge Road Pete Dugas Julius Richie Kristen Bach Elisa Barrazza Drew Beskin East Downtown Fred Smith Smith Wilson Rashe Malcolm Willa Fambrough Taylor Pass North Avenue Kirrena Gallagher Lexington Road Shane Dekle Jena Haag  A motion was made by Commissioner Fisher, seconded by Commissioner Wright, to adjourn the meeting.
