Approval of Minutes: Wednesday August 16, 2023 IV. Reports:  Keep Athens-Clarke County Beautiful  Recycling/Recovered Materials Processing Facility (RMPF)/TRS  Collections Division  Landfill Status V. Old Business  Adopt-A-Highway Clean-up - (Saturday, October 28th 10-11 am)  Bulky Waste collection – Rome, GA info. VI. New Business  Elimination of Plastic bags and Styrofoam (see below) VII. Adjournment NOTE: Items Assigned - Future Consideration: Develop a draft ordinance for presentation to the Mayor and Commission by the end of CY 2019 (extended but needs to move forward in the next six months) eliminating plastic bags and Styrofoam containers at points-of-purchase, including at least a 12-month phase-in timeline for community-wide education and distribution of alternative items. The committee should engage with retail and restaurant businesses to identify alternatives for their use of these products. They should also develop a timeline for elimination of these items at events on ACC public property. (Update: Attorney’s office needs data to show bag impacts in ACC before ban would be acceptable. Staff/residents using DebrisTracker App to attempt data collection for impact information.)
