THE AUDIT AND FINANCE COMMITTEE WILL MEET ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2017 AT 9:30 AM, AUSTIN CITY HALL 301 W. SECOND STREET AUSTIN, TX Ellen Troxclair, Chair Kathie Tovo, Vice Chair Steve Adler Leslie Pool A quorum of the City Council may be present at this meeting. Action will only be taken by the members of the committee. The committee may go into a closed session under the Open Meetings Act, Section 551.071, of the Texas Government Code, to receive advice from legal counsel on any item on this agenda. CALL TO ORDER Approval of Minutes 1. Approve the minutes of the Audit and Finance committee meeting of October 25, 2017. Citizen Communication: General 2. A maximum of five speakers signed up before the meeting is called to order will each be allowed three minutes to address topics not posted for committee action. Speakers may also sign up for specific items that the committee may take action on. Discussion and Possible Action 3. Audit of Workforce Development that looked at the City’s Workforce Development contracting efforts, and how effective these efforts are at achieving outcomes and preparing employees for jobs that match the needs of the Austin job market (City Auditor’s Office) Sponsors: Council Member Ellen Troxclair, and Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo 4. The First Audit in a Homelessness Assistance Audit Series that looked at whether City policies align with efforts to achieve desired outcomes for people experiencing homelessness (City Auditor’s Office) Sponsors: Council Member Ellen Troxclair, and Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo 5. Fee Waivers Audit that looked at whether the City administers the fee waiver process effectively and to identify the total amount of fees waived each year (City Auditor’s Office) Sponsors: Council Member Ellen Troxclair, and Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo 6. Approval of Audit and Finance Committee Dates for 2018 (City Auditor’s Office) Sponsors: Council Member Ellen Troxclair, and Mayor Pro Tem Kathie Tovo Future Items 7. Discussion of future items.
