All of the following items may be acted upon by one motion. No separate discussion or action on any of the items is necessary unless desired by a Council Member. 10:00 AM – City Council Convenes Consent Agenda Management Services 1. Approve an ordinance amending Chapters 5-1, 5-2, 5-3, and 5-4 of the City Code to prohibit discrimination based on reproductive health action in housing, public accommodations, employment, and employment by City contractors, and to make a correction to Part 5 of Ordinance No. 20220609-043. Strategic Outcome(s): Government that Works for All, Economic Opportunity and Affordability. Item(s) from Council 2. Approve a resolution affirming the City’s commitment to protecting the right of individuals to make their own reproductive healthcare decisions, limiting the use of City funds for collecting or maintaining information concerning abortions or other reproductive healthcare actions, and de-prioritizing enforcement of criminal laws concerning abortions and other reproductive healthcare actions. Sponsors: Council Member José 'Chito' Vela, Council Member Kathie Tovo, Mayor Steve Adler, Council Member Paige Ellis, Council Member Vanessa Fuentes, Council Member Leslie Pool, and Mayor Pro Tem Alison Alter 3. Approve a resolution directing the City Manager to explore the City’s ability to conduct a public education program on long-term birth control, including vasectomies and to provide Council with an update; and to ensure health insurance for City employees and their spouses cover low-cost birth control, including vasectomies. Approve a resolution directing the City Manager to evaluate and make recommendations on benefits for City employees to support reasonable access to reproductive health care services that are no longer lawfully available in Texas.
