CALL TO ORDER & PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Mayor Preciado called meeting to order at 9:35 a.m. and Pledge of
Allegiance.
ROLL CALL: Councilman Hernandez, Councilman Gravelle, Councilman Verdugo, Mayor Pro Tem Ramirez, Mayor
Preciado.
STAFF: Lopez, Ortiz.
CITY CLERK:
Government Code Section 54952.3: The members of the City Council/Successor Agency are entitled to receive a total of $300.00 per
month because of being elected to the City Council. They receive no other compensation for sitting as a member of Successor Agency.
PUBLIC COMMENT/ANNOUNCEMENTS & UNSCHEDULED APPERANCES:
Juan Celis stated via Facebook comment that: "He would like to know if more jobs would be coming to Avenal since the city has been
expanding as far as housing goes. There is plenty of open field here in town for Avenal to lease out to a solar site, not only that but it would
employ Avenal citizens and that money goes back into our little community. Not only that but after the project is done Avenal can have
openings for solar site maintenance techs, or people to wash the panels, cut the weeds, even service them if possible." "That’s a good 10-15
jobs added to Avenal once the project is done"
The City Council went into Closed Session at 9:39 a.m.

It is the intent of this governing body to meet in closed session to review its position and to instruct its designated representatives:

Mayor Preciado re-opened meeting at 2:10 p.m. with no action to report out of Closed Session.
CORROSPONDANCE/RESPONDENCEANNOUNCEMENTS/CLOSING COMMENTS:
Councilman Gravelle excused himself for distracting time during Closed Session.
Antony Lopez, City Manager reported the following: 1) Valentine Day’s breakfast on the February 14th
Mayor Preciado reported the following: 1) thanked, everyone in attendance.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business the City Council meeting was adjourned at 2:12 p.m.

Any person may directly address the Council/Agency at this time on any item on the agenda or on any other items of
interest to the public that is within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council/Successor Agency. State Law
prohibits any member of the Council/Agency from commenting or acting on matters not on the agenda. Three (3)
minutes are allowed per person.
