Regular Meeting of the Balsam Lake Board of Trustees, Monday December 4, 2017 at 7:00 pm
“Notice is hereby given to the public and the news media pursuant to Wisconsin Statute that a Village Board meeting of
the Village Board of the Village of Balsam Lake, Polk County, Wisconsin, will be held as indicated below for the purpose
of transacting such business as indicated on the following agenda. Discussion and possible action could be taken on any
agenda item.”
Agenda:
1. Call to order.
2. Roll Call.
3. Conducting Village Board Meeting-there will be no public input to the board after public comments,
except during a properly called public hearing.
4. Public Comments-3 minutes per person.
5. To consider and possibly act to approve the Regular Board Meeting December 4, 2017 Agenda.
6. To consider and possibly act to approve November 6, 2017 Regular Board Meeting Minutes, November
13, 2017 Special Board Meeting Minutes and November 27, 2017 Special Board Meeting Minutes.
7. Fire Chief Report-Monthly Activity.
8. Police Chief Report-Monthly Activity.
9. Library Director Report-Monthly Activity.
10. Chamber of Commerce Report-Monthly Activity.
11. Kevin Adkins-Paradise Landing, License to serve on ice.
12. Smart Growth Commission Report-Caroline Rediske.
13. Public Protection Committee Report-Kathy Poirier.
14. Discussion and possibly act to approve amending 2017 attorney fee budget.
15. Discussion and possibly act to approve Zoning administrative position.
16. Fill trustee vacancy by caucus voting.
17. To consider and possibly act to approve November 2017 Treasurers Report.
18. Set Village Board Meeting for January-either Tuesday January 2nd or Monday January 8th.
19. Set Village Caucus-between Tuesday January 2nd and Tuesday January 30th.
20. Set December committee meetings.
21. Announcements. Tuesday December 19th Primary-Tuesday January 16th Special Election-State Senate
22. The board may go into closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(f) to consider the medical,
social or personal histories of specific persons or the review of charges against specific persons which, if
discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of the
person referred to in such histories with respect to their application for an operator’s license: Joshua
Williams, Kimberly Taber and Kyle Thompson.
23. To consider and possibly act to go into open session.
