To be approved at 01-08-19 Barre City Council Meeting Special Meeting of the Barre City Council Held December 21, 2018 The Special Meeting of the Barre City Council was called to order by Mayor Lucas Herring at 7:32 AM at Barre City Hall. In attendance were: From Ward I, Councilor Jeffrey Tuper-Giles; from Ward II, Councilors Brandon Batham and Michael Boutin; and from Ward III, Councilor Rich Morey. Also present were City Manager Steve Mackenzie and City Clerk/Treasurer Carol Dawes. Absent: From Ward I, Councilor Sue Higby; and from Ward III, Councilor John LePage. Adjustments to the Agenda: NONE Old Business – A) Errors & Omissions Approval Request. Council reviewed the memo from City Assessor Joe LeVesque, recommending the assessed value of 31 Keith Avenue be reduced from $190,100 to $170,100. Councilor Batham made the motion to deny the request, seconded by Councilor Morey. After further discussion, Councilor Boutin offered a friendly amendment to reduce the assessed value of the property to $182,500. The mover and seconder accepted the friendly amendment. Council voted on the motion as amended. Motion carried. Clerk Dawes requested that Council approve a building permit submitted yesterday, as the Council will not be considering building approvals again until its January 8th meeting. The Clerk said the permit will be considered for ratification as the January 8th meeting. Approval of Building Permits – Council approved the following building permits on motion of Councilor Boutin, seconded by Councilor Tuper-Giles. Motion carried.
