Parks and Public Tree Advisory Board Meeting

MINUTES OF CITY OF BASTROP PARKS AND PUBLIC TREE ADVISORY BOARD March 4th, 2021 The Bastrop Parks and Public Tree Advisory Board met in a Regular Meeting on Thursday, March 4t, 2021, at 6: 00 p. m. at City Hall. Members present were Chair Jimmy Crouch, Barbara Wolanski, Betty Rucker, Margaret Robinson, Jamie Creacy and Kerry Fossler. Liaison Councilman Dock Jackson was absent. Staff present were Curtis Hancock, Thomas Martinez and Terry Moore. 1. CALL TO ORDER At 6: 01 p. m. Chair Jimmy Crouch called the meeting to order. 2. STAFF, BOARD, AND COMMITTEE MONTHLY OPERATIONAL REPORTS 2A. Parks and Recreation Report Report was given by staff Thomas Martinez. 2B. Bastrop State Park Report Report was given by Jamie Creacy. 2C. Recreation Report Report was given by staff Terry Moore. 2D. Bird City Coalition Report Report was given by Kerry Fossler. 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS There was a written Citizen Comment from Travis Seberger of 108 S. Shore Rd, Bastrop, TX. He is a member of the LPDGA ( Lost Pines Disc Golf Alliance) and wrote about the benefits of having a professional disc golf course at Bob Bryant Park, how it brings visitors to town and brings families together outdoors. He also offered his help and support in bringing the proposed course to life. 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES 4A. Consider action to approve Parks and Public Tree Advisory Board minutes from the February 4th regular meeting. Motion was made by Board Member Barbara Wolanski and seconded by Board Member Jamie Creacy with the correction that Jimmy Crouch arrived tardy to the February 4th meeting and was not absent. Vote was unanimous. 5. ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION 5A. Update and discuss the Wheeled Sports Plaza Phase I project. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. 56. Update and discuss the Sidewalk Connectivity Project. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. 6. UPDATES 6A. Invitation for input from Board Members related to issues for possible inclusion on the next meeting agenda. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gathered the topics — Mayfest Park, Frisbee Golf at Bob Bryant, Wheeled Sports Plaza, Sidewalk Connectivity Project, Master Gardeners moving the Community Garden to Bob Bryant, Pool at Bastrop State Park, and Old Iron Bridge. 7. ADJOURNMENT Board Member Barbara Wolankski made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 7: 04pm. Board Member Jamie Creacy seconded. The vote was unanimous.
