Parks and Public Tree Advisory Board Meeting

The Bastrop Parks and Public Tree Advisory Board met in a Regular Meeting on Thursday, May 6th, 2021, at 6: 00 p. m. at City Hall. Members present were Chair Jimmy Crouch, Barbara Wolanski, Betty Rucker, Jamie Creacy and Kerry Fossler. Absent were Board Member Margaret Robinson, Liaison Councilman Dock Jackson and staff Terry Moore. Staff present were Curtis Hancock and Thomas Martinez. 1. CALL TO ORDER At 6: 06 p. m. Vice Chair Barbara Wolanski called the meeting to order. 2. STAFF, BOARD, AND COMMITTEE MONTHLY OPERATIONAL REPORTS 2A. Parks and Recreation Report Report was given by staff Thomas Martinez. 2B. Bastrop State Park Report Report was given by Jamie Creacy. 2C. Recreation Report Report was submitted by Terry Moore in advance. 2D. Bird City Coalition Report Report was given by Kerry Fossler. 2E. Council Liaison Report No report was submitted. 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizen comments 4. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES 4A. Consider action to approve Parks and Public Tree Advisory Board minutes from the April 1st regular meeting. Motion was made by Vice Chair Barbara Wolanksi and seconded by Board Member Betty Rucker with the correction that Betty Rucker was absent. Vote was unanimous. 5A. Update and discuss the Wheeled Sports Plaza Phase I project. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. 5B. Update and discuss the Disc Golf in Bob Bryant Park. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. 5C. Update and discuss the Master Gardeners moving to Bob Bryant Park. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. 5D. Update and discuss adding an Overlook Park at 300 Water. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. 5E. Update and discuss the Lovers Lane Property. Invitation for input from Board Members related to issues for possible inclusion on the next meeting agenda. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gathered the topics — Wheeled Sports Plaza, Disc Golf at Bob Bryant, Master Gardeners moving the Community Garden to Bob Bryant, Lovers Lane Property, Soccer at Emile School and Pickleball Expansion. 7. ADJOURNMENT Board Member Betty Rucker made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 7: 28pm. Board Member Kerry Fossler seconded. The vote was unanimous.
