Parks and Public Tree Advisory Board Meeting

MINUTES OF CITY OF BASTROP PARKS AND PUBLIC TREE ADVISORY BOARD September 2, 2021 The Bastrop Parks and Public Tree Advisory Board met in a Regular Meeting on Thursday, September 2nd, 2021, at 6: 00 p. m. at City Hall. Members present were Barbara Wolanski, Margaret Robinson, Jamie Creacy and Kerry Fossler, along with Liaison Councilman Dock Jackson. Board member Sarah Rooney called in for the meeting. Absent were Board Member Betty Rucker and staff Terry Moore. Staff present were Curtis Hancock and Thomas Martinez, I. CALL TO ORDER At 6: 08 p. m, Chair Barbara Wol nski called the meeting to order. 2. STAFF, BOARD, AND COMMITTEE MONTHLY OPERATIONAL REPORTS 2A. Parks and Recreation Report Report was given by staff Thomas Martinez. 2B. Bastrop State Park Report Report was given by Board Member Jamie Creasy. 2C. Recreation Report Written report from Terry Moore was read, 2D. Bird City Coalition Report Report was Riven by Kerry Fossler. 2E. Council Liaison Report Report was given by Councilman Dock Jackson.' 3. CITIZEN COMMENTS There were no citizen comments APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES 4A. Consider action to approve Parks and Public Tree Advisory Board minutes from the July 1st regular meeting. Motion was made by vice Chair Margaret Robinson and seconded by Board Member Jamie Creacy. Vote was unanimous. S. ITEMS FOR INDIVIDUAL CONSIDERATION SA. Update and discuss the Disc Golf in Bob Bryant Park. Public Warks Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. 513. update and discuss the Birding Bind in Bob Bryant Park. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock & Board Member Kerry Fossler gave an update.  5C. Update and discuss Purple Martin Houses in Bob Bryant. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock & Board Member Kerry Fossler gave an update. 5D. Update and discuss the naming of new trail after Mrs. Dorothy Skarnulis. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. SE. Update and discuss Mobile Vendors in Fisherman' s Park. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. Motion was made by Board Member Jamie Creacy for City Council to explore mobile vendors in public parks with funding going toward Parks budget. Board Member Kerry Fossler seconded. Vote was unanimous. SF. Update and discuss Bastrop County Complex Fire 10 year Anniversary. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update. 5. Update and discuss Rodeo Arena. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gave an update, 6. UPDATES 6A. Invitation for input from Board Members related to issues for possible inclusion on the next meeting agenda. Public Works Director Curtis Hancock gathered the topics — everything from this agenda plus the Bastrop County Master Gardeners moving to Bob Bryant Park, adding a Youth Member to the Parks Board, and reviving the " Friends of the Parks" for mobilizing volunteers and gathering donations for projects, 7. ADJOURNMENT Board Member Kerry Fossfer made the motion to adjourn the meeting at 7: 04pm. Vice Chair Margaret Robinson seconded.
