Battle Creek Area Clean Water Partners Quarterly Meeting #1 Minutes June 24, 2020, 10 am ZOOM call Attendees: Terry Blaniar (City of Springfield), Fred Heaton (Calhoun Co. Water Resources), Dave Morgan (Pennfield Twp.), Chandra Youngblood (Battle Creek Public Schools), Stephen Lewis (Battle Creek Public Schools), Matthew Hanauer (EGLE), Janelle Hohm (ELGE), Chris Kosmowski (MDARD), Cheryl Vosburg (Kalamazoo River Watershed Council), Jim Coury (Citizen), Kurt Tribbett (City of Battle Creek), Patty Hoch-Melluish (City of Battle Creek)  Introductions  MDEQ Update o Matthew Hanauer gave a presentation on MS4s and permit requirements o Janelle Hohm reviewed EGLE representatives for our MS4 and nonpoint source programs o EGLE staff are on furlough either Mondays or Friday until further notice  Approval of Agenda  BCACWP Agreement Updates & Nested Jurisdiction Agreement Updates o P. Hoch-Melluish provided status of BCACWP Agreement. It was being updated in April 2019 and is not completed. City of BC will work on updates and submit to the group for feedback. o Committee signup lists were available. C. Kosmowski said that the Technical and Finance Committees meet only when needed. We will work to recruit other members, as needed. Below are the current members that signed up:  Technical Committee –Kurt Tribbett, Patty Hoch-Melluish  Finance Committee – Kurt Tribbett  Public Involvement and Education – Patty Hoch-Melluish, Kurt Tribbett, Stephen Lewis, Cheryl Vosburg, Jim Coury, Barb Darlington (nominated by D. Morgan) o Need additional members for the above sub-committees. o Discuss additional membership possibilities that Patty will contact. o Budget approval was motioned by P. Hoch-Melluish. T. Blaniar approved budget as proposed. K. Tribbett seconded budget. All approved, none opposed. Budget, as proposed, was approved. o 2020 meeting schedule was motioned by P. Hoch-Melluish. Kurt approved meeting calendar. T. Blaniar seconded. Meeting dates approved for 2020.  Public Education & Upcoming Events for 2020 o June 26: Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Urban Tree Grant; partner with Kalamazoo River Watershed Council and City of Kalamazoo  o June 26: Rain barrel sale pick up o July-Aug. (maybe Sept.): Battle Creek Area Farmer’s Market – Need Public Education committee member to present. Rotate booth to present different topics (recycling, stormwater, wellhead protection).  July 8 (9 am – 2 pm)  July 24 (3-7 pm)  July 29 (9 am – 2pm)  Aug. 5 (9 am- 2pm)  Aug. 14 (3-7 pm)  Aug. 26 (9 am -2 pm). o July 26-Aug. 31: Konnect with the Kazoo – Online watershed event. https://kalamazooriver.org/konnect/ o July 30: Scrap tire collection, DPW o Aug. 22: Electronics and Stryrofoam Collection, DPW o Oct. 3: Krazy for the Kazoo river stewardship day o Oct. 6: Scrap tire collection, DPW  Comments: o J.
