Commissioners Present: Comm. Behnke, Comm. Hersha, and Comm. Baldwin
Commissioners Absent: None
Others Present: Susan Bedsole and Clyde Robinson
Call to Order: The meeting commenced at 4:03 p.m.
A motion was made by Comm. Behnke, supported by Comm. Baldwin, to appoint
Comm. Hersha as Chairperson. All yes. Motion carried.
Comm. Behnke indicated he had a blank evaluation that was used last time and the
results. He did not have updated salary figures from other municipalities. Comm.
Behnke stated that he had obtained raise data from Mr. Ritsema which will be 2% per
year for city contracts.
Approval of Minutes:
A motion was made by Comm. Behnke, supported by Comm. Baldwin, to approve the
October 11, 2004, meeting minutes. All yes. Motion carried.
Discussion:
Comm. Hersha asked Comm. Behnke if there would be more documents that the
committee would be receiving.
Comm. Behnke stated that Attorney Robinson would research the salary ranges of other
municipalities and any of Attorney Robinson’s newsletters. He noted that Attorney
Robinson’s current salary is $101,106.
Comm. Hersha asked if the Committee was satisfied with the current evaluation form.
Comm. Behnke felt the evaluation form was useful as the information could be compared
with the evaluations from 2004.
The Committee concurred that the form could be used again as a tool for evaluating Mr.
Robinson.

Comm. Behnke stated that he would ensure that Vice Mayor Walker, Comm. Yankama
and himself would return the evaluations.
Comm. Baldwin stated she would be responsible for Comm. Franklin and Comm. Owens.
Comm. Behnke suggested having everything completed and approved by the
Commission before August 24.
Comm. Hersha recommended setting a deadline to return the evaluations to the City
Clerk by Thursday, August 2 and scheduling a meeting August 7 at 5:00 p.m. in Room
204 at the DPW building, before the City Commission meeting.
Atty. Robinson stated he thought the only thing to address is a new expiration date on the
contract and the compensation amount.
Comm. Behnke was interested in talking with Atty. Robinson regarding prescription
drugs. He stated he had discussed this before with the City Commission as a whole and
would like to have the City Attorney help control prescription costs by agreeing to
$400.00 a month per dependent cap on prescription drugs.
Public Comment: None.
Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
