City Attorney Evaluation Committee City Hall – Conference Room 302A 10 N. Division Street Wednesday, September 19, 2011 4:00 P.M. Commissioners Present: Mayor Susan Baldwin, Comm. Sullivan and Comm. Fulton Commissioners Absent: None Others Present: Eileen Wicklund, Susan Bedsole, and Russ Claggett Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 4:00 P.M. Public Comment: There was none. Discussion: Ms. Wicklund provided the committee with an update of the number of board and commission surveys that were sent out and completed. She also provided a draft of the packet that will be sent to the City Commission and explained its contents. Mayor Baldwin questioned one of the responses where it identified a particular board in the open- ended question. Ms. Wicklund responded she felt it was important to know some times which board or commission the response was referring to because it could be helpful to her if there is a problem. However, all survey recipients were informed they could complete it anonymously. She further stated, in this instance, there are many members of each board, therefore, it would be impossible to know who specifically made the statement. Ms. Wicklund inquired into what information the committee would like with respect to pay ranges. Comm. Fulton suggested the information be included in the packet that goes to commission. Mayor Baldwin asked if Ms. Wicklund had built in step increases in her contract. Ms. Wicklund responded they were not included in the initial contract. Comm. Sullivan asked if the reasoning behind the request for a pay increase would be included in the packet. Ms. Wicklund indicated that it would be included. She further indicated that perhaps the discussion regarding salary would be a closed session so that there could be a frank discussion. Mayor Baldwin confirmed the committee members would let the other commissioners know the survey was coming. Adjournment: The meeting adjourned at 4:25 p.m. SEB 1
