MEMBERS PRESENT: Commissioners Tim Martinovich and Michael Roller MEMBERS ABSENT: None STAFF PRESENT: Clerk Victoria Houser: Fire Chief Brian Sturdivant: Nancy Mullett, Labor Attorney: Matt Beauchamp, Battalion Chief CALL TO ORDER: Clerk Houser opened the meeting, noting all Civil Service Commissioners were present and there was a quorum. Clerk Houser informed the Commission of the resignation of Commissioner Al Giguere due to health concerns, thanking Commissioner Giguere for his service to the Commission, to the Fire Department and the community. Clerk Houser called the meeting to order. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. Comm. Roller, supported by Comm. Martinovich, made a motion to approve the Civil Service Commission meeting minutes of July 13, 2020. All yes, none opposed. Motion approved. PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS: There were none. REPORTS: There were none. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: There was none. NEW BUSINESS: 1. Certify the “2020 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List” Comm. Roller, supported by Comm. Martinovich, made a motion to certify the 2020 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List. All in favor, none opposed. Motion approved. 2. Certify the top candidate on the “2020 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List” A motion was made by Comm. Roller, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to certify the top candidate on the 2020 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List, Bush McCarthy. All in favor, none opposed. Motion approved. 3. Certify the two remaining candidates on the “2020 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List” A motion was made by Comm. Roller, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to certify the two remaining candidates on the 2020 Fire Lieutenant Eligibility List, Justin Coffey and Ryan Johnson. All in favor, none opposed. Motion approved. 4. Approval of the 2021 Civil Service Commission Meeting Schedule A motion was made by Comm. Roller, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to approve the 2021 Civil Service Commission meeting schedule, meeting the fourth Monday of each month, with the exception of holidays, at 4:00 pm in Commission Chambers. All in favor, none opposed. Motion approved. 5. Authorize the City Clerk to begin the Fire Captain Promotional Testing Process A motion was made by Comm. Roller, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to authorize the City Clerk to being the Fire Captain Promotional Testing Process. All in favor, none opposed. Motion approved. 1 6. Authorize the City Clerk to begin the Fire Training Officer Promotional Testing Process A motion was made by Comm. Roller, supported by Comm. Martinovich, to authorize the City Clerk to being the Fire Training Officer Promotional Testing Process. All in favor, none opposed. Motion approved. PUBLIC COMMENT: There were none.
